We're playing our first game, and a player left. Can anything be done to speed up turns since he ain't logging in? When will he dissapear as a player, when all his provinces are conquered at the end of Autumn? How many votes for Draw/Cancel are requiered? Anything else I should know on the situation? Thanks in advance, guys!
The login page on vdiplomacy says to enter your webdeplomacy usrnm and pswd, but then it says my account does not exist. Yet, I see names that I recognize on that forum.

There is a Tournament about to start on vdiplomacy.net called the whittle down tournament which needs players! The basic format is that the tourney starts on the site's largest map and players get eliminated from each round and the survivors pass to smaller and smaller maps. Serious Diplomacy Question- How nice should you be to your allies?
I am a relatively new player to Diplomacy, and often engage in (obviously) diplomacy with other players. However, I seem to find myself being to nice to my supposed allies. When dealing with allies, how nice is too nice? Thanks.
Hey, I'm having trouble getting the last few games together. I apologize to those whose games are being constantly postponed. I need two volunteers minimum to keep the tournament going. It's only 1 or 2 games folks, can anyone step up?
I've been playing here for about 2 years, but started playing at playdiplomacy about a month ago, and I have to say, they have a better interface, and a community who can actually hold an intelligent discussion. A Dutch German team? No offense intended to 'ze germans' of course, but i think it is possible to field an all Dutch team, as we even got completely Dutch games off the ground :) Maybe we can even get two teams..
last world cup we did have a low countries team with The dutch and belgians. I bet you could make a central europe team. Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Czechs etc.
I could be available for a Central European team, if there is an interest. Over the last couple of months I have been playing mostly gunboats but I am opent o classic dip as well.
Don't know how World-cup diplo is played .... haven't done such a tournament yet . But if you need someone for a Belgian or "Lage Landen " - team .... i m available . Are this Wta games /fullpress/ anom /gunboats ? How is this country-team wk played ?
Ik denk dat ik zelf niet meedoe, maar misschien is het een idee om een Nederlandstalig team op te zetten eerder dan een Benelux of een Nederlands team?
As it seems an all Germany/Lowlands team isn't in the cards...
Maybe a couple of you guys still interested in playing would sign up for the Western European team, instead...it being at least relatively near to you all (I suppose...nearer than I am, at least) and it would ensure a 7th "World" team (so as to allow for balanced conferences geographically) and 21 teams overall, which would let us begin?

What does everybody think of Dutch policies? Saw some talk show about it and even though it was in dutch (which I am) I still could understand "Yes minister" better...

I think it would be a good idea to allow unrated games. After all, not all Chess games are ELO-rated for example. A simple way to do it would be to make a new variant, say "Classic-unrated". Then, adjust the GR program so that it excludes all games of that variant.
