When to draw: gameID=103187
I am curious as to what others on Webdip think proper End of Game etiquette is. I have always thought that if a grand alliance succeeds in drawing up a stalemate line to stop one's solo (or if it is painfully clear that a line will be drawn), that was the proper finale to the game as no one can progress past. As an example, take a look at this game where a stalemate line has been drawn yet the one closest to a, now impossible, solo refuses to draw.

I hate when people go Civil Disorder, so...

I wish they'd come back, or better yet, someone take over for them. But that hardly happens unless they're in an amazing position. The last, dying breaths of a country are often very defining for the rest of the game (except maybe an 02 Austria).

To help make the community better, I resolve to, in 2013, play NO game that starts in 1900. It's CD takeover or bust for me!

I wouldn't complain about that either, except that I'd never get to play.

Rommel, you will make them go away! You are doing us a great service.

I have suggested two ideas:=
1) CDs automatically get advertised on the live games thread
2) you can join games for FREE
I think those 2 things would help

The second option would make the multi problem a lot more prevalent. Discounted, sure, but free = no.

I've done my part. I've NEVER played a game that started in 1900.

Pre-game counts as 1900. Unless you take over from bans every single time, you have been playing in games that started in 1900. But nice try.

I used to play on a site that allowed non-players to submit contingent orders for any player that had NMR'd. Then the next turn,if the NMR repeats, the contingent orders are executed and the new player joins with much less damage done. Waiting for two cycles can destroy a pretty playable situation.

that's a good idea virtualbob!
other good ideas are those found in vdiplomacy.com
Sorry for "spamming", but I won't get tired of doing from time to time. Guys, you should try i! it's amazing.
The only advantage webdip still has over it, is the quantity of players.

RIP Sir Patrick Moore a brilliant astronomer and presenter
He presented a monthly astronomy program on the BBC called "The Sky At Night" from it's first episode in 1957. It was the longest running TV series with the same presenter and in all that time he only missed one episode.

"Patrick is irreplaceable. There will never be another Patrick Moore. But we were lucky enough to get one." - Dr Brian May.
