When to draw: gameID=103187
I am curious as to what others on Webdip think proper End of Game etiquette is. I have always thought that if a grand alliance succeeds in drawing up a stalemate line to stop one's solo (or if it is painfully clear that a line will be drawn), that was the proper finale to the game as no one can progress past. As an example, take a look at this game where a stalemate line has been drawn yet the one closest to a, now impossible, solo refuses to draw.

I've been asking myself this question for an eternity. Why not ask 1% more taxes and slowly create a buffer, a government bank account with money for large investments?

The tournament definitely had it's ups and downs over the 6+ months but I'd consider it at least somewhat a success. Maybe, in a few months time, I'll start a 2nd. I certainly welcome any feedback on how to improve it for next time.

In H5G1, I took over for AncientMemories when he got ill so he gets the points for the game, not me.

Nice job Tasnica! I'm still bitter about that stab though...

Does this place me third or fourth with that second place tie?

Let's call it fourth. Good job though.

Congrats Tas. It was really painful watching that game slowly finish and knowing that there was no chance of your elimination.
I joined this late as a replacement, if it ran again I would sign up for sure. I felt this tournament was well run and had great quality of play. Thanks for the hard work, Yonni.

Congrats Tasnica and to the rest of the top-finishers.

How many multi/meta issues did it have? I see Sandgoose's name on the list so his banning must have effected something.

Surprisingly, I don't think we had anyone banned while in any of the games. We had a few CDs and many NMRs but that quality of play, overall, was definitely decent.

I think, for the next one, I'd make some requirement for the participants activity on the site. Something to try ensure that we get fewer people dropping out during the 1st round and creating reshuffles.

I also joined late, and enjoyed all the games I was in. Was well done, and I dont think we had much NMRs in the 3 games I was in.

Wow, I somehow pulled that off! I enjoyed all the games I played in, with the notable exception of H6G3.

I guess I'd better get started on an EoG. I'm a bit behind on those...

While I'm working on it, you should totally start a World Triathlon, Yonni! I'm taking a press break from WebDiplomacy, but I'd love to watch it. ;)

RIP Sir Patrick Moore a brilliant astronomer and presenter
He presented a monthly astronomy program on the BBC called "The Sky At Night" from it's first episode in 1957. It was the longest running TV series with the same presenter and in all that time he only missed one episode.

"Patrick is irreplaceable. There will never be another Patrick Moore. But we were lucky enough to get one." - Dr Brian May.
