I didn't know my job was to 100% contradict everything you say - sorry to confound you. I'm not doubting the "Islamists" as you call them are being trained, equipped, fed, clothed, funded, and supported by Uncle Sam. I just don't agree that this is happening first and foremost because America loves Evil Muslims and secretly wants to wipe out all the religious minority sects that Islam has previously failed to wipe out over the last 1400 years.

Considering that Persians constituted most of the bureaucracy of the early Caliphate and Persian continued to be the language of cultured people in the Islamic world for a couple centuries after it was "annihilated", I would say the situation was not as bleak as you and your bigoted right-wing Islamophobic friends make it out to be.

I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume your memory is a little hazy. What I pointed out was that freed blacks could own property - not slaves. I never said that being a slave "wasn't that bad" - but I did say that free blacks in the south had it better than freedmen in the "enlightened" north, where they were literally banned from many states (in addition to many other inconveniences, like being kidnapped and sold into slavery down river).

What I have said is that they weren't anywhere near as bad as Putin and his mass-murdering right wing friends make them out to be, and in many ways they were far less oppressive than the big, bloated, and intolerant Byzantines they supplanted.
