I AM THE LEGEND OF OZ:
Armed with a college degree he didn't earn, Dr. Scarecrow isolates the munchkin gene and discovers the controversial "munchkin cure." All across Munchkin Country, eager recipients line up to be "cured." Flash forward three years. Oz is a desolate wasteland, devoid of life.
Nick Chopper, known as "The Tin Man," drives along an overgrown yellow brick road, accompanied by his dog Toto. A herd of deer jump across his path and he gives chase, only to be beaten to the kill by a cowardly lion. Chopper considers shooting the lion, but decides against it. He heads to his fortress home and locks himself in. Chopper sends out radio signals in the hope of finding other non-infected people.
Chopper dreams of his earlier life as a military doctor. The munchkin cure turned out to be a virus that turned its hosts into zombies. The zombie munchkins wiped out nearly all life in Oz. Chopper stayed behind in the Emerald City in order to try to invent a cure. He sent his wife Dorothy off so she could be safe. Chopper awakes and tries out his experimental serum on an infected munchkin he captured, but it fails.
Chopper is trapped by munchkin zombies. Toto saves him, but is bitten by an infected flying monkey. Chopper has no choice but to kill Toto before he becomes a dog-zombie. In a grief stricken rage, Chopper attacks a large number of munchkin zombies and is overwhelmed. He blacks out and dreams of his wife Dorothy trying to escape Oz in a hot air balloon, then crashing to her death.
Chopper wakes to find he has been rescued by Glinda, a non-infected human who has heard his radio broadcasts. Glinda has heard of a human refuge across the poppy fields. They plan to get to travel there together. Meanwhile, Chopper realizes that his serum actually works and the infected munchkin he captured is now cured.
The zombie munchkins attack. Chopper takes a syringe of the cured munchkin's blood and gives it to Glinda, telling her to escape. Chopper stays behind to buy her time, holding off impossible numbers of zombies with only a woodaxe.
Glinda makes it across the poppy fields to Elphaba's Castle, the sanctuary for the non-infected. There she shares Chopper's serum, which will be key to the rebirth of the human race. Glinda makes sure that future generations will know the Legend of the Tin Man.
