When to draw: gameID=103187
I am curious as to what others on Webdip think proper End of Game etiquette is. I have always thought that if a grand alliance succeeds in drawing up a stalemate line to stop one's solo (or if it is painfully clear that a line will be drawn), that was the proper finale to the game as no one can progress past. As an example, take a look at this game where a stalemate line has been drawn yet the one closest to a, now impossible, solo refuses to draw.

Every had a superior team that had a off week and you were eliminated from the playoffs?
Sure happened to me today
Sounds like a bubble team, not a superior team. If you had a superior team, you already would have qualified for the playoffs, no?
My league I was 2-6 5 weeks ago and in last place. I'm not 7-6 and headed to the playoffs. Wooooooooo
*now
Tom Brady
Doug Martin
Matt forte
Marshawn lynch
Brandon Marshall
Percy harvin/ Malcolm Floyd
Gates/ chandler
Texans/ cardinals
Matt Bryant
I think my team is pretty decent...and I was in the playoffs but I got booted out because of Dez Bryant

I scored 186.5 D in my bye week last year, and Yahoo sent me an email saying that it was in the top 100 scores in their site history. Next week I scored 55 and lost by 40.
Dez Bryant fucked my team over too. I may be able to squeeze into the playoffs if I win next week. Sitting at 7-6 now.

My starting lineup this past week.

Peyton Manning
Marshawn Lynch
Bilal Powell
Andre Johnson
Cecil Shorts III
Marques Colston
Brandon Myers
Lawrence Tynes
Bengals (dropped the Rams to pick them up)

Bench
Michael Turner
Rashad Jennings
Mike Williams
Sidney Rice
Julian Edelman
Andy Dalton

Tom Brady
C.J Spiller
Stevan Ridley
Jordy Nelson
Julio Jones
Jermichael Finley
Adrian Peterson
Shayne Graham
Cleveland

Bench:
Carson Palmer
T.Y Hilton
Wes Welker
James Casey
Mason Crosby
Detroit

These players have led me to an 11-2 record in my first ever fantasy league :) (1 of my 4, with other records of 10-3, 5-8, and 3-9)
Why in gods name do you have a kicker and a defense sitting on your bench?
And having Tom Brady and All Day on your team helps. The rest of you team is upper-middling though (C.J. Spiller and Stevan Ridley were huge risks coming into the season) How'd you get two first rounders?
butterhead (90 D)
03 Dec 12 UTC
@Goldfinger- I got a second Defense and kicker so that when my primarys went on bye week I would still have a full roster, and then never dropped them. and by 2 first rounders did you mean how did I get Brady AND Peterson? I got Brady round 1 and AP round 3(Got Welker in 2)

My starters:

Colin Kaepernick
Cecil Shorts III
T.Y. Hilton/Lance Moore
Stevie Johnson
Stevan Ridley
Mikel LeShoure/Matt Forte
Tony Gonzalez
Justin Tucker
Broncos D/ST

Bench:

Lance Moore/T.Y. Hilton
Danny Amendola (didn't play for me)
Joe Flacco
Michael Bush
Ben Roethlisberger (didn't play for me)
Matt Forte/Mikel LeShoure

Compared to the rosters above that have scorers like Brady and Julio Jones, my team sucks, and I'd guess about 80% of the roster is due to free agency or trades. The only one I drafted that I can think of is Forte; the rest were trades or pick ups.
You got Peterson in round 3....amazing. He went late 1st/early 2nd in my draft. Welker in round 2 is about right. Brady was my first round pick as well. Since I also drafted Peyton though, I traded Brady away (in an awful, awful trade. For Andy Dalton [who actually isn't too bad] and Rashard Mendenhall who I *thought* would be a Marshawn Lynch level RB).

How deep is your league though, butterhead? For my 10 person, 16 man team league, there's no reason to keep two kickers on a roster, or two defenses. Free agency will have good enough ones.

@bo - Most of my roster is due to waiver wire stuff too. Of my team, I only drafted Peyton Manning, Marshawn Lynch, Andre Johnson, Marques Colston, Michael Turner (wasted #2 pick) and Mike Williams. So that's what....62.5% of my team that is from waiver wires?

Yeah, gf, and I just looked through it. The two players on my team that I drafted are Joe Flacco and Matt Forte, and I actually had released Flacco earlier in the season before picking him up again a week later. So, depending on how you look at it, either 13 or 14 of my 15 spots are filled by players I didn't draft.

That's not to say I haven't made mistakes, I understand that (for example, I dropped Brian Hartline a week before he went berserk). I traded Wes Welker when he was sucking for Antonio Brown who was blowing the scoreboard up, and right after that trade, they switched roles. That stuff happens anyway. But the majority of my misfortune is entirely beyond my control.

Mine is a 10-person 15 man teams. and Like I sad, I only had 2 because I wanted to make sure I had someone in the bye weeks, and then decided I'd keep them just in case one started to slack off or something of that sort. and a couple of my players(Spiller and Hilton) were players I added after dropping players I now regret dropping(DeMarco Murray and Dez Bryant)(Murray was out, Bryant was sucking)...

I am in a league where the last 3 teams, all 5-8, have scored over 200 D more than teams #4,5,6 and 7 that are 6-7, or even 7-6. Two were eliminated and the number 1 seed has to face the second hardest match (even though they are the 8th seed) (hardest would be the #2 seed). The middle seeds all got lucky to win several games they should have lost during the season. The 9th seed started 0-5 although they scored the second or third highest point total each week in 4 of the first 5 weeks. They sadly just faced the highest scoring team that week. Certainly not my fantasy and I doubt theirs. However, since I am the #1 seed, I had a good season (although losing both MJD and McCoy have hurt my RB depth). Come on guys, get well soon!

Oh BTW, in order to promote competitiveness, we limit the bench to only 3 players! That really hurts if you get injuries. It allows more decent players to be available on waivers, and makes paying attention to bye weeks during drafting important. However, during the course of the season, you will have to release (or trade) a good player to handle your more immediate needs. Does seem to promote more trading.
Celticfox (100 D(B))

That's insane. I admitly did little trading since people wanted to give me RB's (I have Adrian Peterson, Frank Gore, and at the time Steven Ridley). I would of happily traded for some more receivers but no one wanted to give those up.

Just happened to me. Ryan QB ATL, Bryant WR DAL, Johnson WR HOU, Nelson WR GB, Foster RB HOU, Ridley RB NE, Gonzalez TE ATL, Gostkowski K NE, Denver D.

Highest point total in the league to date, 6-7 record, and out of the playoffs.

Fantasy kick in the balls: I have Cam Newton (44 pts), AP (28), and the Seattle D (41 pts). My team put up 160 and I still have Andre Johnson and Owen Daniels still to play. The kicker? I'm top seed and its my bye. Life is tough.

Tom Brady- 28.44
C.J Spiller- 5.2
Stevan Ridley- 13.20
Wes Welker- 5.20
T.Y Hilton- 4.80
Brandon Myers- .70
Adrian Peterson- 29.00
Shayne Graham- 2.00

haha, I had the Hawks D in another one of my leagues... 41 fucking points. how the fuck does that happen. lol

haha nice! My 12-2 league has me winner of 8 straight games, yet somehow still in second in the league.
I lost my game this week by two points because I was in Budapest and wasn't able to check and see Cecil Shorts was inactive.....two points. No playoffs for me at 7-7
Wait a second, I just checked and I have the tiebreaker against the other 3 7-7 teams! Squeezed in at #4 seed!

Jeez, the guy I'm playing has 3 players I used to have - Brady, Kenny Britt, and Vick Ballard - plus Jermaine Gresham, AP, and the Law Firm, and 49ers D. This is gonna be rough.

RIP Sir Patrick Moore a brilliant astronomer and presenter
He presented a monthly astronomy program on the BBC called "The Sky At Night" from it's first episode in 1957. It was the longest running TV series with the same presenter and in all that time he only missed one episode.

"Patrick is irreplaceable. There will never be another Patrick Moore. But we were lucky enough to get one." - Dr Brian May.
