Newbie looking for my game...
Sorry if this is obvious, but nothing in FAQs helped. I joined a game yesterday, my points went down from 100 to 75 (and still at that level) indicating that I joined.... but nothing shows up under "my games". How do I find the game I joined? Am I missing a step?

White House Hypocrisy...
They get the debt deal....and before the ink is dry, Obama is out giving his victory speech, proclaiming that the battle is not over, that everyone must sacrifice....Higher taxes are on the way. Kind of make a dude want to puke.

ANON Games...Revealing Names...
Would it be considered cheating, meta-gaming, to reveal the identity of someone in a game that is supposed to be Anonymous? It happened *twice* in an "anonymous" game. sigh....

Beatles White Album
Thoroughly enjoying it at this moment...reminiscing about the various states of mind I encountered myself in low those many years ago in college when I discovered this album. That was the time in my life were I enjoyed the vision of purple jellyfish dropping their tendrils out of the sky upon an unsuspecting humanity. Ahhh....good times...

Trivia thread!
An idea inspired by the Who am I? game thread, only much simpler. Answer a trivia question. If you get it right, you get to ask the next one.
Don't cheat by googling answers please. That ruins it.

The Revolution and the Constitution Were Government Bailouts
American Historian Woody Holton has argued that the Revolution and Constitution themselves were bailouts, distinctly against conservative fantasies about the founding fathers.

The Great Name Game
A-Z, last names...

Who's the "greatest" person with a name ending with A...with B...with C...all the way to Z...

My picks:

A is for Aristotle (Philosopher, scientist taught by Plato, found much of early philosophy/science)
B is for Buddha (Prince, priest, and founder of the religion/philosophy of Buddhism)
C is for Confucius (Philosopher, founder of Confucianism and much of Eastern philosophy)
D is for Darwin (Biologist, unleashed evolutionary enlightenment and creationist backlash alike)
E is for Einstein (Physicist, discovered Theory of Relativity, Laws of Space and Time, etc.)
F is for Freud (Psychologist, pioneered psychological and psycho-analytic theory)
G is for Galileo (Astronomer, physicist, invented the telescope, popularized Scientific Method)
H is for Homer (Author, epic poems formed the first foundations of Western Literature)
I is for Isabella I (Queen, financed Spain’s trips to the Americas, instituted Spanish Inquisition)
J is for Jesus (Religious activist, preacher, and founder/prophet of the religion of Christianity)
K is for Kepler (Astronomer, discoverer of laws of planetary motion
L is for Locke (Philosopher, theory of democracy formed basis for US/UK democratic systems)
M is for Muhammad (Military leader and founder/prophet of the religion of Islam)
N is for Newton (Physicist, discovered Laws of Gravity and Laws of Motion, etc.)
O is for Orwell (Author, arguably the most important author of the 20th Century)
P is for Plato (Philosopher, taught Aristotle, laid groundwork for most of Western philosophy)
Q is for Qin Shi Huangdi (Emperor, unified China for the first time, burned numerous texts)
R is for Rousseau (Philosopher, theory of democracy inspired French revolution and democracy)
S is for Shakespeare (Author, 37/38 plays, 154 sonnets, immensely influential in literary figure)
T is for Tzu (Philosopher, founder of the Taoist movement and ideology)
U is for Umar (Religious leader, took a lead in the early Islamic religion, engineered its growth)
V is for Victoria (Queen, ruled the British Empire for 60+ years, longest reign by a female leader)
W is for Washington (General, First President of, and “Father” of The United States of America)
X is for Xerxes (King, leader of Persian Empire I expansion and starting the Greco-Persian Wars)
Y is for Yat-sen (Activist, led of the Chinese Revolution, named by State as “Father” of nation)
Z is for Zoroaster (Prophet, founder of Zoroastrianism, influenced Abrahamic religions)

Top 10 Notables Left Off:
-Mozart (A victim of Muhammad’s getting the slot, “M” was one of the hardest to decide)
-Marx (Also ousted by Muhammad, as he, Engels, and Lenin all split credit for Communism)
-Moses (Also ousted by Muhammad; he, Mozart, Marx, and Muhammad were all close)
-Beethoven (A similar story to the “M’s,” B had a three-way race, and was hard to choose)
-Bach (See Beethoven; it’s a shame of the three, Bach/Beethoven/Mozart all missed out)
-Ghandi (He actually had the spot…and then I realized I’d left Galileo out…it was close, though)
-Luther (With enough religious figures already, I left Luther out in favor of Locke—and Reason)
-Hitler (Homer has a longer-standing influence…and I’d prefer as “positive” a thing as possible)
-Nietzsche (Shakespeare locked up his spot, but not Nietzsche…those pesky Laws of Motion…)
-Elizabeth I (Another great figure ousted by science…damn you, Theory of Relativity…)

Tzu is not a name, its a title, i think it means 'master'. Its used as a suffix for many philospher's names (Lao Tzu, founder of Taoism, Kung Fu Tzu aka Confucius, Sun Tzu who wrote "The Art of War"', etc)

Buddha would fall under G, if we're going by surnames. In fact, you went first name with a lot of people (Jesus, Isabella, Victoria...).
obiwanobiwan (248 D)

In a few cases I went with what they were known for, like with Jesus...

Jesus/Christ, it could go either way, but there weren't a lot of contenders for J, and C called for Caesar, so there it was...same with Victoria--not a lot at V, and she's known as Queen Victoria.

Van Gogh is an interesting V. You might be able to go with Otto Von Bismarck also.

"Von/van" is sort of a title, though, right? Like "Sir?"

Didn't think of Van Gogh, though...still. painter/vs. queen goes to queen, and besides, there were almost no women, sort of felt SOMEONE with two xx's had to be on there...
SacredDigits (102 D)

No, von/van isn't a title. It's part of the surname. Some Dutch have eliminated the space to avoid confusion.

I don't know... Xerxes doesn't seem like a fitting choice for 'X'. He only temporarily unified the city-states of Greece (who defeated him), and within 50 years Athens and Sparta were at war again.

However, I can't think of anyone more important to replace him... Xenophon (Historian, chronicled 4th-century Greek history and preserved writings of Socrates), perhaps?

Argument is War
Left wing statists Lakoff and Johnson made the statement that "Argument is War" in their book Metaphors we live by. They were exactly right and the war has been raging between statists and realists long before the book was published.

After nearly 3.5 years, I finally finished 100 games!
I like how I still have single digit survives, since survives are my least favorite, they mean I gave up a solo while alive. I was kind of hoping for 50 draws and 25 wins, along with the 16 defeats and 9 survives, then D = 2w, w = d + s, D = w + d + s, and d ~= 2s, but suppose I won't complain. ;-)

Unemployment caused by Government
Yogurtini and BTO Yogurt are two examples of the marketplace responding to idiotic government attempts to legislate a standard of living which only succeeds in diminishing the number of jobs and increasing unemployment.
