I think that they should have to write an essay on how any particular testing format, including the essay, skews in favor of a particular type of intelligence and gives those who are good at that type of exam strong incentive to continue enforcing that exam as a barrier to political participation.

IQ is an example of 'how any particular testing format,' it doesn't measure lots of things, like essay writing skill, or emotional intelligence, or atheltic ability, or leadership, or hand-eye-coordination... All skills based on neural development, so entirely equivalent in some sense.

And more to the point, the inability of you to make humour which is understandable to others demonstrates the lack of value of a high IQ without the capacity to understand other points of view.

Those with a high IQ do have access to a free MENSA mug, which often takes pride of place at the very back of the cup draw where no one can see it. There may even be other benefits, but I can't think of them at the moment.
