The way to get more wins is by learning how to win in an endgame scenario.

Refuse to draw until a stalemate line has truly been set (know your stalemate lines). Most players draw way to early.

Or just play more live games and wait out the others until they CD.

The first I agree with. Leave yourself vulnerable and expect to be taken out. Rarely is it personal but people take it that way.

The real solution is to get across the usual stalemate lines with units *before* you are perceived as a threat, which means mid game at the latest. If you don't get across them before they move to block you, you never will.

What I do is I tend to shield myself behind a stronger player heading into the endgame. Cross the stalemate line if possible and secure a position there that would make it possible to get the solo, then rally everyone against the leader.

That's one way to do it. The other one is to lurk as a strong player and move very, very quickly in your solo attempt. I'm talking about 3 years max from stab to solo, with you gaining 2-3 SC's each year. Sometimes it will take you multiple attempts though - they will be able to beat you back. At this point, rather than draw, allow yourself to shrink in size and continue on with the game to make another go at the solo in ~5-6 years or so.

That implies that drawing is some sort of trend and you've been around for a time that it wasn't so prevalent. Both BS.

Winning is god damned impossible or at least very tough but that's half the fun. I feel like most wins come from a player messing up, thinking they had a chance of soloing themselves until it was too late or from a smaller power being vindictive and pushing another player over the top. The key to both cases is keeping talking to everyone, even when it doesn't seem productive. It's trying when the other people aren't so talkative but it's the only way I find.

@Yonni - He was talking about the strong second trend (which exists and has existed for a long time) in PPSC of giving the win to someone else for the points a strong second gets. Remember, PPSC can get a strong second in what would otherwise be a three way draw more points if he has 12 or more SCs or if he has 9 or more in what would otherwise be a 4 way draw.

The answer to this question is to leverage weaker powers to your advantage. If you are leading, it is almost always a bad idea to completely knock out a player. Instead, make them your minion who can help you across the stalemate line. Even better, after you make a devastating attack on someone, get them to work with you *before* you knock them all the way out, but in such a way that if they don't work with you, you can still easily wipe them out. Play through some end-game scenarios until you're good at them (i suggest 2 player vs games on vdip, or ven the odd three-way game, which may head towards a three-way draw, but is likely more like end-game anyway)

You need a rock solid understanding of tactics to have a shot of soloing in good games. But a lot of what yonni and uclabb said is great advice. Don't knock out players unless you absolutely need to, grow through your allies in the mid-game, but grow such that they are out of position and always keep talking.

Check through some past tournament games though and see how powers positioned themselves for solos. Check the public press games of the world cup too. If you can solo a PP game, you can solo any game
