The only thing is that my work deadline is almost passed, so I'll have to think of new excuses as to why I'm not participating in family life anymore.
Also, PE/Capt, I'd like to suggest another way to resolve draws. I really disliked the incentive of putting in the first vote, the racing element is not in sync with the spirit of the game, even more so on forum.
In my RL games, we always used a Mayor position to serve as tiebreaker. How this works:
- First day round, people are asked to be a candidate for Mayor. Each can apply
- Each mayorial candidate gives a brief speech on why we should vote for him/her
- Each citizen casts ONE irreversible vote
- The Mayor is chosen.
The Mayor's vote in the lynch is worth 1.5 votes, meaning it serves ONLY as a tiebreaker. If the Mayor is killed (in any shape or form), he/she can appoint a new mayor with his/her dying breath. This way, the Mayor often gains a role of some importance even if game-mechanic importance is limited.
I think this role could be applied as-is to the forum game, though knowing the egos that float around on webdip, we may wish to put a cap on the amount of candidates lest we get bored by the speeches....
