I currently live in the Pacific Northwest (though I didn't grow up there). Unfortunately, I'm already in the World Cup playing for California (where I did grow up).

@Indy, I think there might be a rule about your having to have a lower GR than him, but if there isn't, or nobody cares, you're in.

@Tas, I've concluded that zultar has it out to get us. First he quit the tournament so that California could take you, and then his mod team banned Sandgoose. It's too much to be simple coincidence.

@semck, MadMarx and Barn3tt both left the site right as the tournament started (note that I basically just name dropped Barn3tt there to remind everyone how great our area is at diplomacy).

Our original sub just reminded us of his existence, so it looks like we're set. Thanks to the two of you who volunteered, we'll keep you around in case semck gets banned too.

Are there a lot of Pacific Northwest players on the site? I live in Bend, OR. Haven't been in many games in which others seemed to be in my timezone, but then again I haven't been in many games yet. Just curious.

@Brian, I'm not sure. There seem to be a lot of really good players from around here, and a lot of them are active community members as well, but I'm not sure if we represent well over the entire user base.

I think there's an online group of Pacific Northwest face to face players if you're looking for more people, but I don't know where it is off the top of my head.

The tricky thing is that now we know that Semck is playing Turkey. That's not fair, or is it?

You mean Sandgoose? Semck's a full press player.

Anyway, I'm guessing that most people had already identified Turkey, but if people want to cancel and restart, that seems fine.

Yeah. He helpfully chimed in on our email thread. I had half-assumed that he had left the site, and half just forgotten about him.
