I love dirty players. I played football as dirty as I could and every coach I had pulled me at some point for it. I told him that my I sure as hell was better than any of the other linemen, which of course was true because I was awesome.

I love dirty play. I love everything about it. It's what makes the game fun again.

You know what really bothers me about the games this week?

When the Cardinals beat the Patriots, they celebrated like Appalachian State over Michigan. Maybe more like Oberlin over Ohio State. Really? NFL team beat NFL team. Come on, man...

Well I'd celebrate too if I were a shitty team who just went 2-0 against much better teams lol.

@ Obi - Yes Suh can play dirty, but what defensive lineman doesnt? You cant believe Justin Smith is a saint can you? Yes Suh has stomped on a player and I hate him, but I hate him because he is a lion and I hate the lions. I completely agree with you about the celebration thing - Although the cardinals would seem to be a much worse team than the pats, they still have there share of the best football players in the world.
This isnt some College with 10,000 students and no scholarships beating a Big 10 school.

Act like you've won a game, sure celebrate, but dont go over board.

Just to put things in perspective I didn't watch the game so I don't know how overboard they went celebrating

The Lions were 2nd in the NFL in penalties last year (only--wait for it--Da Raidahs had more, and THEY set an NFL record in doing so) and had the most Personal Foul/15-YD penalties with 31 or almost 2 per game.

Not only is that just dumb football, it's undisciplined and dirty football, to say nothing of Suh's suspension.

I'm not pretending all players are saints (far from it) and indeed, it's GOOD that there are still hard-hitting players and plays in this league.

But there's hard-hitting and then there's being either just a dumb, dirty player, a thug, or both.

Truth.

As for the Cardinals celebrating...

It didn't offend me, I guess, that they whooped it up like they'd just beat the Pats for a SB win instead of a Week 2 win...

I just figured, "Hey, they have to celebrate something this year, I guess." ;)

(Sorry, I don't see the Cardinals coming back...the Seahawks and Rams look like they're making strides, and we might have a fun division in a year or two in the NFC West, but as for the Cards...nah, that window of opportunity has come along and already shut--when they lost Warner to retirement, they lost the best chance they had at being a championship team, and with the 49ers rise back into the NFL Elite and the Seahawks surging forwards and seemingly having found a good rookie QB in Russell Wilson...and the Rams showing some offensive promise today...sorry, not in the cards for the Cards.)

Yeah...when a Rams-Redskins game turns into an offensive shootout you know the times are a changin' lol
