Austria's Poor Performance
I'll admit, I'm pretty new to playing Diplomacy online. I never thought of Austria as a poor draw, but it seems to get eliminated first in almost every game I've seen on this site, crushed between its three neighbors. I always thought Italy and Austria were a sure thing as allies, but Italy almost always seems to turn on Austria in 1901 here. Anybody got an good theories?

And now we can't even pass kids that can write a competent, non-Ob-esque (ha, beat you ALL to the joke!) professional paragraph? What happened to us, USA?

It must only have been live, then, because wikipedia semi-verifies (as much as wikipedia can be said to) that Goldfinger was the only major band to release a cover of the Nena tune 99 Red Balloons.

I have googled the crap out of blondie and Debbie harry with 99 red balloons and.the only thing I find are lyrics giving them credit and a video of a karaoke bar signer in a blonde wig singing it badly. I thin CF is confising Nena's English language version with Debbie Harry. Sound wise they are similar sounding.

Nena's English music video. She does sound a lot like Debbie Harry of Blondie.

Ah, the wonder of mislabels. "Teenage Wasteland" by the Who is one of my favorite frequent ones. And "Everybody Must Get Stoned" by Bob Dylan.

14 Sep 12 UTC
To me, the trilogy of Who hits (Baba, Won't Get Fooled again, Who Are You) always bring to mind the CSI series. But I loved those three (and all of Tommy) long before CSI was dreamt of as a TV show.
Celticfox (100 D(B))
14 Sep 12 UTC
No I mean House. I believe it's implied or actually said that Baba O'Riley is the character House's favorite song. And yeah I grew up listening to The Who and that ilk thanks to my father.
Draugnar (0 DX)
14 Sep 12 UTC
It's what he was listening to on the episode titles Control. But I don't know that it is his "favorite" so to speak. Just one he likes and happened to listen to on one episode. Considering Hugh Laurie is a talented pianist and guitarist and so was House, I imagine the character has rather eclectic and diverse taste musically speaking. I know he listens to and mentions the Stones (especially "You Can't always Get what You Want") numerous times.

A good review/blog of the music Dr. Gregory House listened to on the show.
