When I joined webDip I had finished some games before, both in-person and on FB Diplomacy. In fact I had never lost a game, leaving a burning heap of #rekt scrubs in my wake, except for the times where I graciously decided to allow myself to take one for the team and lose so the other kids would still have fun enough to come back and get whooped again. Good times.
Anyway I joined webDip shortly before I enrolled in undergrad at ULSU. After durdling around in the rankings all of fall semester (too busy HAVING A LIFE BROS ahahahaha) I finally kickstarted the time-honored webDip tradition of grinding live games for lots of points and GR and tricking people into thinking I was actually good at this game, a tradition long-standing to this day by such great names as [[REDACTED]]. I peaked out as #6 in the world (EDITOR'S NOTE: "the world" = webDip), and in the meantime I also made a name for myself in the forum by being a contrarian libertarian douche who, alongside my (not contrarian libertarian or a douche DONT GET ME WRONG) bro Thucy (SHAKE THA HATERS BRO), stood in as the Co-Caretaker of webDip Dank Me-Mes, starting such classics as "ENJOY TO LIVE GAME GOGOGO" and promoting "YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT ABOUT THE CONGO." Four years later, it's this last sentence that truly stands out as my most lasting, contributing legacy to webDip lore.
Oh except for mafia. That might ACTUALLY be my best contribution. I dunno man those me-mes were pretty dank.
Sometime along the way I took a break from posting and playing, returned back, and somehow ended up on the mod team??? Who let that happen??? Forum troll to mod, man, that's something special, innit. It didn't last because I was busy and also really bad at banning people. Like really bad. I think I banned maybe 2 accounts in my entire time as a mod, which is fewer accounts than jmo bans during one of his daily 5-minute power naps. I guess maybe I can round up to 3 bans if you count some of the collective decisions in which I weighed and fudge numbers a bit. Oh and also I silenced myself indefinitely once when I was drunk. Good times.
Anyway after I retired as a mod I more or less dropped off the face of webDip. Sorry guys. I'm still sorta here in spirit, but the truth is that I just can't find the right pacing to enjoy online Diplomacy these days. I feel like all the games I've been in, either they're too quick and I make all kinds of mistakes in my press cuz I get busy at work and don't have time to play (and also cuz I'm bad at this game, see that whole "grinding live games to trick people into thinking I'm good" part), or they're too slow and I get bored and lose my edge after the first few in-game years. I feel like live games might be cool (and BIG shout-out to Valis for restarting the 150cc group! hell yea son!! that's DOPE) if I can set aside a block of time for them, and I'll try to do that soon for y'all.
