Important Webdip Survey
I'm doing a non-sanctioned survey of how many people visit the site over a weekend. Please +1 this post so I can get an accurate count. I will then share my findings with the site admins to make improvements. Thanks!

@gold f: assassins and the arsonist. last game they had a guide on some of the terms used. does anyone know where to find that?

lol idk, that's why I said it. I found it weird that mafia never could kill me. Maybe I'm invincible.
tvrocks (388 D)
22 Mar 15 UTC
@yoyo: we could test that.
ghug (5068 D(B))

scum - bad guys
doc - doctor/maester
vig - vigilante/king's justice
cop - investigator
OMGUS - "oh my god, you suck!" attacking people because they've attacked you
WIFOM - "wine in front of me" indeterminate logical loops similar to the one in the scene from Princess Bride where the name is derived
PR - town aligned power role
VT - vanilla townie
bo - the worst
NK - nightkill

Add whatever I forgot.

Mafia never wanted to kill you...
tvrocks (388 D)

I think you forgot 3. (i'll try to post what i remember)

bussing: intentionally voting for someone to avoid suspicion. (when you're a mafia member. Mainly "they will die anyway so I may as well vote for them.) could also be just posting a case against them.
Bandwagoning: voting in a large group, possibly just because others are doing it. trying to get a large group to vote for someone.
Tunnelvision: mailny focusing on someone because of past things, or being voerly focused on one person.
Gotcha, thanks all! I'll try not to hold anyone back :)

Also, I'm not sure if this is covered in PE's long post but some methods of scum hunting you can use are logic, gut, meta, vote count analysis (VCA), night kill analysis (NKA), motive, and interactions. I'm sure there are other ones I forgot to mention. What's fun about this game is there are so many ways to analyze it.

Meta is personally one of my favorites to use.
NKA is less useful near the beginning but becomes extremely useful near the endgame.
Don't underestimate your gut.
Yoyoyozo (65 D)
22 Mar 15 UTC
Also @gold

There are things called "reads" that are really helpful to the town. It helps us get an idea of who you think is scum. They are usually formatted using the list of alive players, with your thoughts on them following their name.

EXample:
Ghug: scum
Thanks Fluminator. I understand all of those except VCA. Care to explain that a bit more?

Yeah, yoyo, I think I remember seeing that type of format stuff in previous mafia threads.
Yoyoyozo (65 D)
22 Mar 15 UTC
Lol woah my whole post got cut off... that was weird. I had an explanation that ghug was being mean to me and won't be my friend.
Fluminator (1500 D)
22 Mar 15 UTC
VCA is analyzing wagons, formation of wagons, who the wagons were on, who voted on the wagons, etc.
For example, wagons on town players usually look a bit different from wagons on scum players. Near the end of day 1 last game a massive wagon on tvrocks happened right before the deadline which almost never happens to players who are mafia.

You also look at which players are on which wagons. A personal example for me was I was able to guess Jeff was town last game because a whole lot of people I found suspicious were going after him.
Another example I can remember from reading the very first game is Vashta almost got lynched but was saved by a last minute vote change from Warden. When Warden eventually flipped town, it became very unlikely that Vashta was scum because scum probably wouldn't have let a mafia member get that close to being lynched.

VCA is another thing gets more powerful later in the game as player alignments start getting revealed. I remember Thucy solving the first game by solely using VCA.

Just curious, did you just now come up with that term "VCA?" The idea isn't new but it's the first time I've seen VCA used to describe what it is
Fluminator (1500 D)
22 Mar 15 UTC
No, it's a normal term from where I'm from.
Very interesting fluminator. I'll keep a lookout for that kind of stuff.

Also, we can change our votes whenever we want, right?

While were discussing the vengeful townie, I think he should only let himself be killed of he 100% knows who a mafia is. Otherwise claim. Or maybe always claim. Rough situation to be in.
RagingIke297 (142 D)
22 Mar 15 UTC
So what do you guys think of this idea, for the first turn everyone should vote for themselves.
ghug (5068 D(B))
22 Mar 15 UTC
How else would everybody vote?

22 Mar 15 UTC
Oh. Why would we do that?
RagingIke297 (142 D)
22 Mar 15 UTC
This way if anyone gets lynched or if multiple people switch votes off themselves onto someone else and by chance no one gets lynched, we could have some evidence for who is mafia turn 1.

Thoughts on Modern Diplomacy II?
Hello, I'm returning to WebDipWorld after an absence of several years. I am interested to know what the community thinks of this Modern Dip II variant. Is it enjoyable? Fairly balanced? (I don't expect perfection from a variant . . . )

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!
