Nothing wrong there, FD, just allow me to do some synthesizing...
1. This game works like a treaties game (if you're familiar with those). You must announce all alliances, DMZ's, and war declarations publicly a season before they are to go into effect. Seasons: Spring-Summer, Fall/Autumn, and Winter.
2. Prior to every winter phase, a Random event will occur for each nation.
3. If you break a rule, everyone [should] attack you.
4. There is one thing you missed...dealing with NAP's. I don't think we actually got this involved last time, but these are the only complicated things. Two nations can sign a NAP, which serves little purpose in altering the games diplomacy. Two nations with a NAP can then improve their NAP to an alliance without costing them their only major negotiation as discussed in the next rule.
5. New Rule: A nation may only conduct one major negotiation per phase. This rule excludes war declarations. This will also be affected by how convincing you are in persuading someone to use their only major negotiation on you.
Here is an example of Diplomacy conducted over the course of one year:
Spring Diplomacy, 1901:
>France: Alliance signed with Italy
>Germany: Signs NAP with Russia, Declares war on France
>England: Declares war on Russia
>Italy: Alliance signed with France, Declares war on Austria
>Austria: No Political Action
>Turkey: Declares war on Austria, Declares war on Russia
>Russia: Signs NAP with Germany, Declares war on Austria
Autumn Diplomacy, 1901:
>France: No Political Action [War with Germany]/[Allied to Italy]
>Germany: Alliance signed with England [War with France]/[NAP with Russia]
>England: Alliance signed with Germany [War with Russia]
>Italy: Alliance signed with Turkey [War with Austria]/[Allied to France]
>Austria: No Political Action [War with Italy]/[War with Russia]/[War with Turkey]
>Turkey: Alliance signed with Italy [War with Austria]/[War with Russia]
>Russia: No Political Action [War with England]/[War with Austria]/[War with Turkey]/
[NAP with Germany]
Winter RE, 1901:
>France: 1. Nothing Happens
>Germany: 3. An atomic bomb has been dropped on Munich. There are not enough supplies ready to build a unit there. (A unit cannot be built in Munich during the following build phase.)
>England: 2. Increased fishing in the English Channel has caused France and England to reconsider the side-effects of moving military units through those waters. They have agreed to demilitarize the English Channel. (The English Channel is demilitarized for England and France. *N/A if France and England are at war.)
>Italy: 17. An error has occurred in Italian communications. Several Italian units did not receive their orders. (Tunis, Tyr, and Ven are forced to hold during the Spring Diplomacy phase.)
>Austria: 11. An Austrian Archduke has been assassinated. Austria hoped to expand with German assistance, but instead, Germany convinced everyone else to attack Austria. (Everyone declares war on Austria.)
>Turkey: 9. The United States come to Turkey’s aid! Increased pressure has caused other nations to reconsider Turkey as a friend. (Choose any nation that you are not at war with and make them your ally.) *Turkey Chooses Germany
>Russia: 20. The Russian Diplomat to Germany commits a Faux Pas! The two nations go to war. (Russia and Germany go to war.)
Winter Builds, 1901:
>France: *Declares war on Austria [War with Germany]/[Allied to Italy]
>Germany: *Declares war on Russia, *Declares war on Austria,
*Alliance signed with Turkey [War with France]/[Alliance with England]/[NAP with Russia]
>England: *Declares war on Austria [Alliance with Germany]/[War with Russia]
>Italy: No Political Action [War with Austria]/[Allied to France]/[Allied to Turkey]
>Austria: No Political Action [War with Italy]/[War with Russia]/[War with Turkey]
>Turkey: *Alliance signed with Germany [War with Austria]/[War with Russia]/
[Alliance with Italy]
>Russia: *Declares war on Germany [War with England]/[War with Austria]/
[War with Turkey]
And things would get interesting from there...
