Chaqa, nobody's claiming to know things in black and white. This game is largely about convincing others to see the way you see. When I'm town, I'm never sure in my opinions, but I'm more sure in them than I am in anyone else's, and I know the other townies are in similar positions, so I'm going to do my best to convince people to see things the way I do. Part of that is acting more confident than I am.

I let things change my perception all the time, and I usually post conclusions well before I jump to them because I want to see how people react. I'll agree with you that we had some problem this game with people like meme and uclabb (Seriously dude, just own up to the fact that you played an awful game. The rest of us have.) being too confident in their soft-clears and letting that blind them, but I think you fundamentally misunderstand what a lot of us are trying to do, and that's why you've never been very helpful to any team you've been on.

guak, I've been shot night two a couple times, but I generally inflame enough people early that I'm not the sexiest nightkill.

Just for fun, here are my stats on mafia games so far.

Mafia record:

As mafia: 1 game (Mafioso) - 1 win (survived)
As 3rd party: 1 game (SK) - 1 tie (survived)
As town PR: 1 game (Cop) - 1 win (NKd by mafia)
As vanilla town: 3 games - 1 win (survived), 1 tie (NKd by SK), 1 loss (Day lynched for lurking)

6 games played: 3 survivals - 2 NKs - 1 Day lynch.

Fwiw, I think Chaqa played a good game. He also picked good targets to douse.

@Chaqa and thd, maybe consider breadcrumbing your roles if given prs next time - it helps massively when claiming

@Guak - stats don't tell the whole story. I've never lost but still don't think I fully understand the game sometimes. You were excellent this game and mvp for sure

@ghug- I never said that my results weren't poor. That's obvious. What I said is that given the information I had, I can't really go back and say "oh, I should have done this" except hitting gold instead of Jeff and *maybe* hitting gold last night instead of Death.

Besides that, saying I played poorly makes it seem like I think I should have played better, like my "true skill" is higher. I don't feel that way. I think my performance reflected my true skill. Do I want to be better? Obviously. But I don't think I made boneheaded plays or anything like that. I just missed it this game- my general thought coming into this game is that blatant "scum tells" are overrated, and that heuristic was horrible this game with bo and gold and to a lesser extent Maniac.

@Maniac: of course they don't. They are just stats. Same as W-L records on webdip. Still, there is a reason you haven't lost. You are very hard to read.

I wouldn't. Many new, interesting roles out there that cannot be used to 'game' the system.

I don't actually remember; I just remember us having slightly different questions we wanted to ask and arguing for far too long about it.

I think the argument was:
ghug: "yeah, you're probably right uclabb, but let's make the question sound better/ less mathy so people will get behind it."
uclabb: "ghug, you are such a man of the people. Respect."
