I thought Dave Bishop was guaranteed first place in the quarterfinals, based upon winning two games.

Actually, a suggestion for future GFDTs: anyone who wins two games in the quarterfinals automatically gets a berth in the finals. Such performance ought to have a big reward, and I suspect that such a rule will incentivize playing to win as opposed to playing to draw.

If you look at the scoring system, winning two games will get you into the next round. He isn't first, because I believe someone else has won two games as well.

I know winning two games will get you into the next round. Heck, I know that winning one game will guarantee passage into the next round. That said, I think winning both games is such a strong achievement that it should guarantee passage into the finals, not just the semis. But hey, that's just a suggestion.

Oh, I see what you're saying. No, I disagree. The level of competition should be much higher in Round 2. So, wining two games in R1 does not mean you'll do as well in the second round.

I want to publicly apologize to everyone in this tournament. I am the greedy SOB who has been holding up the last game. Because these games are anonymous, I could not reveal until now who I was. So we had a nice western triple going, then we were about to do the EFG draw but I got greedy and tried to solo. The others pounced on me and are finally finishing me off. It shouldnt be long now until this game finally ends.

im not in the final game. i was about to get a 3 way draw in my second game when Draugnar decided to be a sore loser about losing to me and i got the banhammer for about 2 seconds. so im not holding up the last game, but i will advance. im looking forward to i though
