Y, Men's one a day? Is this a joke thread y/n

Maybe, you can probably get more vitamins by adjusting diet, though I'd leave the door open on multivitamins.

I'm not sure if this is a joke thread though...

Not a joke thread :(

Leave the door open and walk out it ..get some vitamins the old fashion way , D from the sun outdoors is s good start..

Change diet to get the nutrients you need , see a GOOD nutritionist ..

Or take all your money and piss it down the toilet..which is where 98% of vitamin tablet contends go..don't belive me take 3-4 vitamin C a day and watch your lavatory glow..most other vitamins are clear ..

Good luck with the weight issue ..I do hope it works out for you..and health improves.

I take rainbow light multivitamins as I need B12. They're entirely plant based which can be hard to find.

Good luck.

@valis sorry about the joke thread comment. I would second what Smokey Gem said about nutrition and going outdoors.

Weight and vitamin deficiencies are kind of separate issues. You can fix the deficiencies without touching the weight problem. What's your main focus? I can go more in depth, but yeah, it really boils down to balancing your diet and staying active.
abgemacht (840 D (G))

Make sure you eat the vitamins with food or you won't digest them as well and it will be a waste.

Oh and if you're just starting to try to lose weight the absolute best ROI is to stop drinking all soda (including diet soda; the sugar replacements wicked fuck with your metabolism). You'll see noticeable weight loss quickly without actually doing anything
fulhamish (4134 D)

10,000 steps a day minimum on your iPhone, Fitbit etc., will do the trick coupled with eating what you instinctively know to be right. You will feel fitter and fitter, walk faster and faster. And still be able to go out for a reasonable meal with friends a couple of times a week. That feeling fitter and fitter is the key. Once you start getting there weight loss will follow, albeit it will slow up as you progress. However, at those times you just need to remember how things were before you started. Good luck.

Not actually true of all vitamins. Iron, Vitamins A & E, and Calcium are better absorbed on an empty stomach. But the problem of irritating one's stomach is a bigger deal than nutrient absorption so you should take multivitamins with food anyway.

At any rate, there is no magic bullet to weight loss. Avoid too-good-to-be-true fad diets or diets that demonize some random food. The most useful thing is to count calories and set strict calorie limits. It doesn't matter what those calories are comprised of. I lost 65 pounds within 5 months without giving up everything I usually ate or drank.

Honestly not as difficult as I thought it would be especially after the first few days of going to bed hungry. Writing down calories becomes a habit after a while.

Sound advice too Putin. I had much less to lose, but fully agree that we do actually know what to do. It is just a question of actually wanting to do it.

When I remember to take a one-a-day, I can tell that a lot of it isn't getting used. I also eat vegetables regularly, don't drink any soda, and walk to work. I wish I knew how to make time for more/better exercise, but it's a work in process.
TooCoolSunday (207 D)

Multi-vits are fine whether you have a weight problem or not. Unless I am completely wrong on this, the body will just let pass through if there are too many and absorb any it needs.
For weight - get a bike (without an engine) thirty minutes a day should do the trick, but lay off the beers and burgers.
teacon7 (306 D)

^ I think the point was that if lots of the vitamins are, uh, "passing through," you're not actually getting much of your money's worth out of them.
Randomizer (0 D)
24 Jun 16 UTC
True most vitamins pass through, but most people don't eat a balanced diet that would give them all anyway. You can buy a standard multivitamin for less than 15 cents a day and not waste money on those megavitamin doses that really only help people with a serious medical deficiency like anemia.

Worst Mistakes in Diplomacy
I'm curious to know what people consider their worst mistakes in their entire Diplomacy career. Is it failing in a guaranteed solo? Messing up a secure draw? Being eliminated when you shouldn't have?

Diplomacy walk-on music
It's the year 2030. Diplomacy has finally taken its rightful place as one of the "big four" global sports, along with soccer, twenty20 cricket, and ultimate frisbee. The first million dollar tournament opens with hordes of screaming fans straining to glimpse you as you stroll to the game board, your walk-on music reverberating through the arena...

What is that music?

As of yesterday I have joined DiplomacyWeb. Also started a game right off, but I haven't got a clue how the digital side of playing is run.
Can anyone inform me (in the FAQ there wasn't any discription as to e.g. who is alotted to which country, where is the TAB to decide whether contestants can or can't mail to each other, etc) ?

Wanted: Thoughtful Discussion
I'm working on a project where I have to document the process of having a discussion with someone whose views I disagree with. The point of the assignment is to examine my own biases, and find ways to address them. So, since I consider myself liberal in most social and economic policy, I'm looking for an open-minded conservative to debate and discuss politics with. If you're interested, shoot me a PM. Thanks.

NEW ENGLAND PLAYER WANTED FOR WWI TEAM GAME!
England has gone into civil disorder so we need a new English player. This is a team game where the allies (Britain, France and Russia) fight the axis (Germany, Austria and Turkey).. England has missed a couple of phases but is still in a good position. The game ID is 179879. It is called "World War One team game". The password for the game is "shellshock". Once you have joined have a look at the other thread on the forum called "WWI team game" to get familiar with the rules.
