My game mostly involved capitalizing on early luck and then getting stuck by fighting too many people at once. 1901 was great as Austria: Italy opened against France, Turkey against Russia, and England against Russia. By 1903, I was on 8, mostly due to sneaking into Italy when I realized his war with France was just going to kill both of them. That proved to be a mistake; I didn't have enough to cover my back from Italy and also quickly take out Turkey, as I soon learned.
So I spent almost three more years positioning myself to actually kill Turkey without losing anything to Italy (I would have definitely sacrificed Venice at this point for peace with Italy, but didn't think I could signal that), and by then, Russia had managed to get a few builds from Germany killing England, and Germany had also roilled through the west. At the end of 1907, I was in the black sea and had an edge against Russia, but it seemed like long odds and Germany was growing faster than he could build, so I switched gears. By 1911, Italy and I both got behind Germany's lines and we got out draw.
