Is this anything more than a jobs bill for expensive unionize labor just like the original stimulus bill was a jobs bill for unionized state employees? If you don't work in a union or you own a business that doesn't employ union labor do you exist in Obama's economic world view?

Mind the gap!
Does anyone else get the urge to fill in the holes in your territory? You know those islands of alien colour spoiling your empire. How far will you go - divert an army a move? Two moves?

My megalomania has no room for anyone else, it's the itch I have to scratch.

How much sex is too much sex?
When should I lay off of the sex? Should I slow down when the women lose their individual robotic identities and combine forces to become the Megazord, or is that, instead, the perfect time to finally bang that hag Rita?

if i have (for example) 7 supply centres and 7 units and i choose to disband a unit instead of retreat, will i be able to immediately (in the next stage) place it back in one of my home supply centres?

Forcing a draw
Is currently in a gunboat game (http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=65576) where the west has formed a perfect stalemate line against Turkey. However, he/she won't vote for a draw, resulting in a very prolonged game without any end. As there won't be a winner, is there a way to for example a mod to force a draw and end the game so we won't have to fill in the same orders over and over again?

C-Span is ok, but the benefit of other news is you can search and get news faster. For issues you don't care much about, C-Span blows.

I'm addicted to C-span. Every single day there are at least two hours of content I'm glued to without one single commercial. I found out long ago how utterly worthless network news is after I started watching C-span. I would watch a hearing and Brokaw or whoever would say something about the hearing that was trivial or irrelevant. I started watching less and less network or cable news right then.

Today I watched a show on the international space station. Washington Journal had a show on job creation by small business. There was a round table on deficit reduction as well.

Nothing beats C-Span.

Sports.yahoo.com, espn.go.com, rotoworld.com, and the sports sections of various online regional newspapers. C-Span does not cover sports much, as far as I've seen.

The Hanged Man

Try Baseball America and Baseball HQ

They cost though.
Yes, except that I don't care for baseball. I do have occasional interest in the Giants, for whom I can get coverage through the local paper, www.sfgate.com. I prefer the NFL and college football and basketball, with occasional flashes like Olympic men's hockey or U.S. women's soccer when appropriate.

College football is the greatest sport ever. The passion of high school football and the talent of professional football rolled into one.

I get most of my news from various sources so I don't get brainwashed by one source. Let's face it. Everyone is biased. Even news sources that appear to be "unbiased" have a centrist bias. FOX News is my first choice as far as TV news because FOX is hilarious. Everyone knows it's a front for the GOP. They might as well change the name to "Obama Sucks News Channel".

Sorry for that little rant. I digress. I usually get my conservative news from FOX and my liberal news from NPR. I also try to make myself read a liberal article in Time or Newsweek on occasion because I realize FOX's conservative slant is greater than NPR's liberal slant.

I scan the news and make up the details based upon my political bias. you know, just like ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, FOX NEWS, NPR, RUETERS, AP, etc....

I read news from everywhere, and form my own opinion. If anyone here thinks there in an unbiased news source, they are a fool. NPR has been caught in politically biased scandals. The networks are manned by about 85% voting demon-crats, fox news is manned by 85% voting republi-pukes....So the only way to get any real sense of any story is to read them all and sort out the facts yourself.

Does anything beat the Weather Channels coverage of storms for up to date on the spot news?

BBC (website + News 24), plus the websites of the Daily Mail (really, it's fun to play spot the real story) and The Guardian. Used to use The Times until it went behind a paywall.

Don't much care for Sky, and the news channels from other nations are not as relevant for me in the UK

Sport - BBC, and CBS & ESPN for US stuff

undercover (919 D)

There is too much "news" in my opinion. Most of it is completely irrelevant.
The stuff that is relevant happens infrequently and you can't help picking it up if you are on the net. Constant repetition of it is unnecessary as is 24 hour news.
I'm a financial markets trader and find I do much better when I limit how much information I look at.

@TC - not really. My football team are languishing in the 3rd tier at the moment, so I'm not that interested in the overpaid primadona's of the Premier League. I get about 3 minutes of highlights from every match on the Beeb, but I'm not sure that's available outside the UK

Can anyone defend evolution?
Can anyone defend the idea that a "species" that diminishes its relations to another species in exchange for increased evolutionary imposition of genetic variation among lifeforms can produce life as we know it?

After cleaning my keyboard a bit too rigorously, my backspace and enter keys have stopped working. It's not too big a deal since I'm likely to get a new laptop for Christmas, but for the short term it's aggravating. How can I change some settings so that, say, my extra shift is a new enter?
