Is this anything more than a jobs bill for expensive unionize labor just like the original stimulus bill was a jobs bill for unionized state employees? If you don't work in a union or you own a business that doesn't employ union labor do you exist in Obama's economic world view?

Mind the gap!
Does anyone else get the urge to fill in the holes in your territory? You know those islands of alien colour spoiling your empire. How far will you go - divert an army a move? Two moves?

My megalomania has no room for anyone else, it's the itch I have to scratch.

How much sex is too much sex?
When should I lay off of the sex? Should I slow down when the women lose their individual robotic identities and combine forces to become the Megazord, or is that, instead, the perfect time to finally bang that hag Rita?

@Draug, I wasn't sure which Springdale you meant, so I didn't try to be state-specific. You're right Ohio has no such law. More to the point, though, why are you online telling people things are legal like you know what you're talking about when you don't know the law and, in fact, in over a third of states, they're _clearly_ illegal.

Now, in the rest -- yep, it would turn on fact-specific things like location, whether the owner was likely to look at the venue where he lost it, if he was identifiable, etc. In this particular case, of course, things all line up pretty badly for the thief.

"Finding a wallet, cleaning it out, and dumping it is not a criminal offense. Not even a misdemeanor."

So this, which says nothing about context, state, location, or anything else, is pretty much BS, which was my point all along.
krellin (80 DX)

@SEMCK....HONESTLY, Mr. Lawyer, for **MOST** people, the law has nothing to do with it. It is simply **MORALITY** that should dictate your actions. The problem with you dumbass lawyers is you actually want to get into the nitty-gritty bullshit and worry about the law. Fuck the law, you ignorant fool! *I* know....and my *CHILDREN* know WITHOUT LOOKING UP THE LAW that it is **morally** wrong to keep the money without trying to find the owner.

I don't give one flying fuck about the law. THAT is what you, Mr Lawyer, just don't get. Go chase an ambulance, dick. Go sue a doctor becuase he made an innocent mistake.....knowing that you will *villify* him in court and tear his reputation apart in order to make your blood money. Jackass.
krellin (80 DX)

abge -- you and I both know you don't need to trust either the money-grubbing lawyer or the Segway-riding mall-cop. There are certain issues where the clear moral choice is obvious.
Draugnar (0 DX)

Well, one would assume the speaker is talking from his own personal location considering laws vary from state to state, but fine. I'll be more specific. Just like people who say sex with someone under 18 is illegal, which is also BS. In Kentucky (getting specific) 16 is the age of consent except when the older party is a person of authority over the younger one, then it is 18. So a teacher having sex with a 16 year old is illegal, but some random software developer can get his world rocked by a 16 year old if he chooses and both consent to the act.

@krellin

Yes, this is true; however, the question was specifically about what the law was, so I don't see how any of your statements are relevant.

@Draug

In the years I've been here, I've learned more from you than I've ever wanted to know about consent laws in Kentucky. : )

Law....if any of your kiddies are old enough to drive, I hope yo drive *precisely* the speed limit....otherwise you are breaking the law.

Taking $15 from a *found* wallet is about as illegal as going 54 mph in a 45 mph zone.

There, abge, there is my input from a legal perspective.

Hell, if you give a guy CPR that collapses on the street, you are liable to be sued by the family when he dies.

Likewise, if I turn a wallet into the office, no matter how much cash I leave in it, I am liable to be accused to stealing SOME money from the wallet from the dishonest fuck that lost his wallet. Who am I to say I didn't take $20 out of the $25, leaving only $15?

In this world, full of jackasses, I'd take the money and throw the wallet out 5 times out of ten, becuase I don't want to deal with the assholes on the other side of the equation.

20 out of 25....leavign only 5, that would be. woops.

@Draug, Interesting, I had no idea. But yeah, probably most responsible to be clear when saying something is illegal. For example, one wouldn't want to say, "It's totally legal to have sex with a 16yo!" just because one lived in Kentucky.

@krellin, please discuss the morality of saying things about people which you have absolutely no reason to suspect are true. (As it happens, as of now I have never sued a doctor, or any medical professional, and in fact, unusually for my profession, I support tort reform).

Also, I can well believe that you don't care about the law, but my experience is that many do, like it or not; and why tell those whose morality is insufficient to direct itself without the law that something is legal when it's not? See?

Because I mean, I'm sure you'll allow that not EVERYBODY is moral. Theft does happen. I assume you'd allow that?
abgemacht (1076 D(G))

Actually, many states have Good Samaritan laws so you don't have to worry about that.

Also, as we all agree, no one would actually win a case like this. It was purely for discussional purposes.

OK, so here is one for you. When I was 17, our band went to Florida for a huge competition (national invite only kind of thing). While there, we had a day at Disney World.

At one of the lines for a ride, I looked down and found a wad of 20s. No wallet or DI or nothing, just the 20s. I took them and spent them. Am I immoral for not wanting to waste time looking for a long gone owner or turning an unidentifiable wad of money into lost and found where some other more unscrupulous teenager would claim to do the whole "we'll send it to you in X days if no one claims it" thing and then keep it for themselves?

I was always taught that if you find money laying on the street, it's yours, end of story. If you find a wallet on the street, you give it back to whoever owns it, unless for some weird reason there's no ID in it, and then that's yours too.
That wad of 20s was just Walt's way of making sure you agreed it was the happiest place on earth.

Also, back on topic, you have absolutely no way of knowing he took it. He easily could have been the guy that saw someone else take it and stepped in offering to give it back.

Am I the only one that would have been delighted and surprised to get the wallet back? I would feel lucky to get the wallet back, period. Gee-Whiz.

No, I am too, but the guy's a terrible liar. Take it from someone who knows him, and talked to him, he took it.

I'm just upset that it's someone I KNEW, not that it was 15$. That's an hour of work compared to a 10$ wallet and at least a few hours of ID to get back.
abgemacht (1076 D(G))
08 Sep 11 UTC
Instead of being upset, just be happy you aren't a miserable fuck like he is. Here's a guy who steals petty cash from people he knows and lies about it. Not the type of person you should waste your time being upset with.

Forcing a draw
Is currently in a gunboat game (http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=65576) where the west has formed a perfect stalemate line against Turkey. However, he/she won't vote for a draw, resulting in a very prolonged game without any end. As there won't be a winner, is there a way to for example a mod to force a draw and end the game so we won't have to fill in the same orders over and over again?
