"MUTE" IS FOR PUSSIES AND RETARDS....
...That have NO argument for their cause.

Witness Tettleton...who says Yogurtini (or some such business) hasTHRIVED under Obama....and then says no bsiuness cab thirve under Obama. He is the WORST kind of hypocrite....because he blathers on like a bitch....but refuses to repsond.

Obama Orders More Deaths
It sounds outrageous at first glance, but my President, Barack Obama, just sentenced Americans to die needlessly today by signing higher CAFE standards so US cars will get more gallons per mile.
Study after study shows that CAFE standards killed between 40,000 and 125,000 Americans and crippled 350,000-625,000.

A "Super-Short" Story
I once submitted the following super-short story. It was word-count limited, and so the idea is that every word and thought must count. The idea is to give a quick scene that evokes and image, and allows the reader to create a whole back-story on their own...And now:

Two Monsters Down

Two Monsters Down...

"One to go," I muttered, kicking the foul demonic corpse away as I pulled my blade free from its eye. I turned and frowned at the Extra-Dimensional Experimental Physicists huddled across the room, cowering in fear of their summoned beasts.
Somewhere distant the clattering crash of destruction pointed out my final prey and I set off in hot pursuit.
Screams and gunfire told me when I was near. "No bullets, ya dingbats! Only cold silver," I grumbled, but try telling a soldier guns don't work!
In truth, it almost cost my own head to learn the lesson. By fate alone I had snatched some Colonel's ceremonial silver sword in desperation when my own weapon was knocked away when I met the first big guy. I only hoped the blade had one last fight in it.
"Hey, ugly!" I distracted the winged brute from feeding on the now-emaciated body of an unfortunate army corporal. The demon, clearly the largest of the three, none the less moved swiftly, bounding instantly toward me at my voice, sending the dead soldier's gun clattering away.
"You're the human!" the hissing threat washed over me even as I retreated. "When you dead, we rule all!"
"We? Time for a head count." I made a show of wiping my blade clean on my cape before leaping to attack.
The enraged creature's roar drowned out the scraping clash of claws against my armored chest, and the clang and screech of my blade off its chitin hide.
Arms like I-beams flailed away at me and it was all I could do to avoid being hammered to death before leaping and planting a lucky foot on his chest. The brute flailed backwards before falling, screeching as one of its bat-like wings snapped beneath its weight.
With supernatural speed I leapt upon it, snapping the cheap silver blade off in my foe's brain.
I turned to look behind me, aware of the gathering group of stunned soldiers and scientists, and casually adjusted my mask.
"My apologies to the Colonel," I said, casually tossing the sword pommel to an awe-struck soldier before disappearing in a flash.
I cataloged this. “Extra Demon-sional: Bring silver when saving the world.”

Wow....my formatting from copy and paste got *totally* f*ed up....oh well...

It sounds like a mix of Duke Nukem and Dungeons & Dragons.

The literary term for a "super short story" is a vignette by the way. If you like the genre you can probably find some collections online.
krellin (80 DX)
31 Jul 11 UTC
Duke and D&D.....yeah, that accurately describes my youth! lol Not particularly a fan of the super short...er...vignette....it was just something submitted to a hack literary site looking for super-shorts. :P So....sounds like....but did you enjoy it? lol
Ruisdael (1529 D)
31 Jul 11 UTC
As much as one can enjoy the script of an action movie, yes. And I was certainly able to visualize the mayhem so I think you achieved your purpose there as well.

Is there a problem with the term "vignette"?
Ruisdael (1529 D)
31 Jul 11 UTC
That is, are you the kind of person who calls them Freedom Fries?
krellin (80 DX)
31 Jul 11 UTC
lol No problem with "Vignette"...I called it a "super short" because that is what the site I submitted it to called them. You can call it "ridiculous thoughts from krellin" is you want. I'm not really that uptight about insignificant things as whether it is called a vignette or Bob or any other thing. And...happy with the action movie description. it is pretty much what I shot for when I wrote it.
krellin (80 DX)

And I call them "slender, squared and fried potato slices". :P

Implied insult? I'm pretty sure calling french fries "slender, squared and fried potato slices" is the epitome of literalism. If you can point out the insult I'll gladly apologize for it.

HAHAHA - I can taste the cheese from here! Tasty.

Cheese is totally what I was looking for. *Very* limited word count....trying to evoke an emotional response while telling a story you can fill out on your own.

OK....Question. G8ve my super hero a name, and tell me about his lair. I'm just curious about what my story evoked in your mind.
fiedler (1293 D)

umm....Old Crusty Cape? His lair would be something like the 40 year-old virgins - is the only thing that comes to mind, sorry! ;P

Question about retreats
Hey I was under the impression that if army 1 bounced with army 2 in territory A, but Army 1 was forced out of territory B by an Army 3, that army 1 could retreat to territory A. Yet, in a game situation this doesn't happen? Can someone explain this to me?

Convoy Errors
I'm currently playing a game - http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=64585 and I can't put orders in to convoy a unit. I could do it last turn, but when the UI changed, this problem started. I'll put in "convoy" an army to "_____" from "_____" and as soon as I put in the last setting, it resets everything and says "orders not completed" when I try and ready. Help?
