Since you like to be pedantic, I'd like to point out that Riphen asked if "anyone" played it, not if "you" played it.

I play it as well. Although the survival mode is much funner, the PVP portion of it can get annoying. The game intrigues most due to the fact that they made a game of legos.. with 1x1x1 blocks. As you begin your journey in MineCraft you start with humble items.. Wooden tools.. Leather armor.. as you progress you find the resources for better things. Iron.. Gold.. Diamonds. And you can build with almost anything. Those things you can't would be the blocks you break and get small items.. Like Coal. Redstone (electricity pathways) or Diamonds. Of which.. these better things.. of course come with a price. They are harder to get and harder to find. But they perform and last much longer
(really guys.. don't be that way).
But the true unique part of it, is that you can build just about ANYTHING. You can replicate historical landmarks.. make towns.. skyscrapers.. giant buildings (things like the Eiffel Tower.. Great Pyramid.. Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Leaning tower of Piza. And then.. when you look back on it.. you realize.. Yah.. I built that.. Whatcha gonna do about it son?

Ahhh i loved lego as a kid. When I wasn't playing with it we would go outdoors and make dens. We'd collect together sticks and pieces of wood and ofcuts of carpet and polythene and equip it with broken deckchairs and discarded tables found in skips. I really wish they had minecraft when I was younger so i didn't have to share my den-building with people who became lifelong friends.

I got it. Its very fun!!! I suck though but Im getting use to it.

I have to say, the zombie killing part is super lame. The combat is really bad, which is disappointing. However, building civilizations is amazing and occasionally running from monsters (especially underground) is fun.

Agreed Abgemacht. I hate when it is sunny and they are still out. I die so much from that. It infuriates me!!! But when I die underground I am laughing.

Creepers scare the shit out of me every time. They always manage to be right behind you...

They key is to never leave your house you see. Since you have no need of sustenance you can live indefinitely in a properly defended house. Immortality is achieved!

You can hit F3 to see your location (x, y, and z coordinates) and x=0 and z=0 is usually somewhat near to your starting location. So if you built your house near to your starting location, you can usually find it from there.

Another way to get to your starting location is to just get yourself killed. Of course you lose everything you were carrying.

I hit F3 and nothing happens!!!

I always carry around 10 diamond so that I don't take death lightly. Livens up the game. Without a painful death, there can be no appreciation for life.

Hrmm, well, you might want to check in at minecraftforum.net and see if anyone there has run across this. I don't read those forums too much, but I imagine there is a lot of useful information there. Be sure to check for a FAQ before posting of course. Good luck!

They took down the video (pricks) but my god its the most beautiful thing in minecraft I've ever seen and they're my favourite movies.
Google it, download, and be amazed.

I used to have a huge city that I made. But when I switched laptops I forgot to bring my .minecraft folder with me.. :( It was a 200x200 city with skyscrapers, hotels, stores.. Took me about 4 months to do..

I have a few games now, my number 1# save is on peaceful, I built two castles a railway, obisidian generator. I'm currently working on a survive! (Hard) save. Creepers been scaring the shit out of me again, ugh.
A couple of survival tips
-If you see a creeper quickly dig a 3 depth hole by any width and then you can kill the creeper easily or just bury it. The Creeper will disappear however, so no gunpowder

-I like to make a first night house elevated two blocks high of the ground. So I can just destroy the dirt block that was my stairs for the night, have yet to die on the first night. Store supplies and when a better location appears, start building!

Put your saves in a dropbox folder.
Or run your server on Amazon so its always up!
