Log on problems
On my other PC I can log in, but every time I click on a game or one of the links up top it logs me out and says Welcome, Guest. Anyone have an idea how to fix this?

League Links and Progress
Would someone be kind enough to post the links to the league games please? I am interested to see what's going on in other groups.

Have any of the games actually completed yet?

What McCain said during the last debate...
About 25 minutes into the debate McCain (in reference to townhall meetings) said, "The way Barry Goldwater and Jack Kennedy agreed to do before the intervention (touches nose & corrects himself)... the tragedy at Dallas."

Controversy
What is the most controversial thing you can think of to type in here? Why is it controversial?

Oh! and for an interesting statistical study on girls and cups, see this:

http://xkcd.com/467/
@Xapi - I wasn't having a serious go at you. I just wanted to make a contraversial statement of my own - so I thought that calling for you to be reported for your comment would do the trick.
Xapi (194 D)

Ah, Ok...

Now I have a controversial statement, Maniac and "me mad? are you insane?" are the same person, and both accounts should be banned for multiaccounting. Even when both accounts have not played a single game together...

That is an even funnier post! How stupid can you be?
sceptic_ka (100 D)

having sex with girls under 18 is OK according xkcd: http://www.xkcd.com/314/
Standard creepiness rule: don't date under: your age/2 + 7
so if you 20 you can date 17 year olds
if your 18 you can date 16 year olds.

I once heard that in the USA a 17 year old with a naked picture of his/her self was charged with the possession of child porn and classified as a sex offender. Anyone know if that's true??
zrallo (100 D)

so you're saying its not creepy if a 60 year old dates a 37 year old??

not me, xkcd. I'm just quoting.
Maniac (189 D(B))
16 Oct 08 UTC
@Xapi - ok it's a fair cop - it's true "Maniac" and "Me mad? Are you Insane" are indeed the same person who have never played against one another. I/we have a multi-personality disorder, it's a mental illness and I think banning me/us would be discriminantry.
aoe3rules (949 D)

sceptic_ka: yes, it's true. not because they might be distributing it, even - just because they have it.

The world would be a better place if Germany had won World War I.

That should generate some discussion given the interests of this game.

I don't believe things would be that different if Germany had won the first world war at all. Sure superficial things like language and UN(or whatever came along in that parallel universe) HQ might have eventually been in berlin. but the general march of industrialization, socialism, democracy, globalism, Humanism, decline of the Christian church, etc ..all those things would have been marginally different, maybe happened slower, quicker but the underlying trends would be the same.

IF Germany had won the second world war things would be a hell of a lot different.
Tirpitz (100 D)
17 Oct 08 UTC
I disagree. British-U.S. ties would be drastically different. The U.S. would not have shaped the post-war world, Germany would. The state of Israel would not exist. Japanese imperialism would have taken a very different form. Japan and the U.S. could very well have been allies.

You can make judgments on whether those things would be better or worse, but the world would definitely look different.

Who will be the next President of the United States?
Now that the debates are over and with only weeks to go before the election, who do you think will win the Presidency and (if you are inclined) why?

To pause or not to pause... that is the question
In one of my games, a user requested to pause the game as he was not able to enter moves. I have chosen to accept, but the thought of not accepting crossed my mind (one reason being that the player is in no way bound by their pledge to start it again at a certain time).

I think, reputation is key since many players end up playing with each again.

No restriction on joining winner takes all games
Looking at some of the Winner takes all games, it appears that the stated restriction about >100 points to join doesn't apply. Does anyone know why? (Possibly this was in a previous post I missed)

End of Game Statements. Brief explanation?
I read of the existence of EOG statements in some other post, but - not having finished a game yet - I do not exactly know what this means (who does it? What is the typical content of it? Etc...)

Anybody would like to explain? Thanks!

3rd Presidential Debate: Best Moment ?
For me, the best moment was when McCain asked Obama how much his fine on Businesses ('Joe the Plumber') is if they didn't provide healthcare. He really hammered Obama on it. And Obama replied "zero, I provide an exception for small businesses." McCain was just floored, stunned, and looked like a dear in the headlights, a shocked/blank expression for a full minute.
