I'll be watching the replay of this NASCAR race in about 7 hours time -- and will be interested to see what happens on last lap. Media in Australia is blaming Tony Stewart for causing a major crash on the last lap. The short video footage I have seen shows Ambrose in a good position, and he gets "taken out" by the car next to his car, when it loses control and crashes Ambrose's car into the wall.
questions --
1 what's the story with Tony Stewart ? Is he responsible for the crash ?
Does he need training wheels or driving lessons ?
Was Stewart tested for alcohol or drugs after the crash ?

2 Is Draugnar involved ?

Ambrose is possibly one of several drivers who had a good chance to win, but who got taken out of the race in the crash, so there could be several drivers who have been disadvantaged by Stewarts dumb driving.
We have just had the "Bathurst 1,000 km touring car race" in Australia won by a Holden ( Chevrolet / GM ) from a Ford at ther Mount Panorama circuit, Bathurst NSW,
so I am in full "tappet head" mode

1.) Yes, Stewart was responsible. He was leading but got hung out (restrictor plate track, he lost the draft) and tried to block in order to get pushed back in line and retain his lead coming through the last turn. He clipped another car and spun, doing the one thing you aren't supposed to do which is slam the brake and that made him come back up the track and wreck like 20 people. He admitted to it, and no, there was no alcohol or drugs, that's just a dumb question...

I've watched the replay of the race since those first posts ( it's delayed into Australia, not a live broadcast )
What a great race, and these drivers are the "elite" chaps in the driving caper, so I now regard what happened on the last lap as "just one of those situations" that can occur in a NASCAR race, damned expensive, but cars can be replaced, and I am relieved that no driver or any other person was seriously hurt or worse.
Tony Stewart has been honest about what occurred and critical of himself
The winner is a grinner, and we can look forward to the next race.
NASCAR is "set up" or "controlled" to deliberately create the situation where there are a heap of cars all with a chance to win on the last lap & when you get that situation, then these dramatic crashes can be expected.
I think our Australian "touring car" race teams are coming to do a race in America
