The Great Debate II: Thucy, dub, 2WL,dD_ShockTrooper vs.My Fellow Krellinists?
It seems as if we have a new wave of vocal and talented akrellinist thinkers, who certainly seem as willing as I to type on the matter, albeit from the other end--so, care to debate, say, 2-4 akrellinists vs. the same # of Krellinists, on a thread w/ a neutral moderator, we each give an opening statement in succession (say, 500-1000 words or less), one rebuttal per person, and then open it up for questions, side with the most +1s for their comments "wins?"

England was a noob. In spring 1909, he sent a clear signal he'd be working towards a draw. I act accordingly, moving my fleets away instead of destroying him. Then he screws it all up, comes back, builds an army. How noob is that? I won't even comment France's moves. Nobody thought of helping Italy.

France decided to let Germany expand unimpeded, then decided to attack me inexplicably when I was the only force countering Germany's expansion and France was being attacked by both Germany & Italy. Russia and Austria decide to quit, effectively handing the game to Turkey anyway. I recover some lost ground after being on the brink of destruction and help France beat back Germany and my reward for it is France NMRing half the game.

I pretty much game up when Turkey had a 7 SC or whatever lead and refused to draw. Germany was attacking me and I couldnt help contain Turkey anyway.

Putin, we probably had a draw. You could help contain Turkey. I stopped attacking you in spring 1909. You're a noob.

Youre blaming the loss on me trying to defend my home SCs with two units? What am I supposed to do, leave myself undefended?

Back the bus up. Russia quit the game in 05 and Austria quit midway through 06. Germany didnt even notice Turkey until the latter was already in Silesia. His supposed 'truce' with me occurred 3 years later.

" You could help contain Turkey"

Right, because were not on opposite sides of the board or anything.

I didnt actually take anything back. Germany seized London after Turkey already had no opposition (in 08). In Spring 09 (when he supposedly makes this truce) he convoyed yet another army onto the English mainland. He also attacked me in Norway when I was heading for StP. He also kept an army in Belgium, likely awaiting another convoy onto England, as Turkey was rampaging through Europe and about to take Munich.

Keep in mind that by Spr 08, France had also CD'd, so I had a hostile Germany almost as large as Turkey surrounding me with no hope of counterbalancing. So Germany was attacking me even though France was no longer a threat of any kind to him, and I'm supposed to just let him walk all over me.

In Spr 10 all I have is an army in Liverpool, which Zmaj condemns me for building despite having an army in Yorkshire adjacent to an undefended Edinburgh. In Spr 10 he makes a move to take Edinburgh, and also moves into Sweden threatening Norway. He also blocks me from the North Sea.

Now somehow these actions by me are responsible for Turkey soloing. Get real.

Yes, they do.

Thats a lot of shit BoSox, I didnt cost Germany anything from 09 when he took London from me to the time Turkey won.
England definitely could have kept Turkey from getting Tunis if the army in lvp had been a fleet instead, and it had followed the MAO fleet. Germany moving to the channel in 1909 instead of Edinburgh should have been clearly read as a signal that he would also work towards a draw. But England didn't really have a way to help Italy without either passing through Tunis or dislodging France's inert units, as far as I can see.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))

England preoccupied Germany for no reason. He would have been included in the draw had that stalemate point been reached so what's the difference between three centers and one? He is not the only reason, but certainly a large reason why no stalemate was reached in the Med and no help was given to Italy earlier.
Putin33 (111 D)
07 Oct 12 UTC
I "preoccupied" Germany by having a single army defending my home SCs in 1909. Get. Real. There was no possibility of a deadlock in the Med as soon as France NMRd for several rounds. Germany was completely undisturbed by England on the continent and Scandinavia. Having to commit a single army, when he had no intention of vacating England anyway, did not preoccupy Germany in the slightest.

I had no reason not to build an army when Germany had just convoyed two armies to England and had a nearby fleet.

bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
07 Oct 12 UTC
France's fleets would have been supported by Germany as he built more and moved them south, and even after you moved after your home, he expected you to give some relief as well. In coalition with your expected fleets, which you stupidly didn't build, you would have been able to easily stalemate him at the MAO.

Tyrrhenian Sea, not MAO ^
Putin33 (111 D)

France was NMRd, genius. You cant stalemate Tyr if you cant get there. I dont know what another fleet would have done. In Autumn 09 I had a fleet in MAO. CD'd France occupied WME. Italy had fleets in TRI, NAP, and TYR and controlled an undefended Tunis. Turkey had fleets in ION, GRE, AEG, and EME. Germany had a fleet in the Channel.

So so how on earth do I create a stalemate line @ Tyr? I cant access any adjacent territory to support-hold Tyr. The only way I do that is by taking Tunis and thereby be blamed for undermining the very force holding the line in the Med. By the time France is dislodged after moving MAO to POR and pulling my fleet down to support an attack on Spain, and then using my fleet in Spain to attack France in WME with MAO & Spain, it'd be way too late anyway.

Germany's fleet couldn't help with any of that barring some uncanny unspoken coordination so what are you even talking about.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
07 Oct 12 UTC
Bottom line, Putin, is that you can't leave, come back and expect to play around based on the map before you left. You had to play for the situation and you didn't. Yes, France NMR'd, but that doesn't matter, you could not have predicted that. You should have tried to prevent the solo and you didn't.
Putin33 (111 D)
07 Oct 12 UTC
France NMR'd before I built the army. My NMRing had basically handed Germany 3 SCs, and he yet he still pursued west in the face of Turkish expansion and blames me for his defeat. Me doing anything in the Med was physically impossible.
