cspieker, let me tell you that the feeling about being thankful about not causing each other troubles was most certainly mutual, especially when I built one less fleet than I needed two to begin with, which slowed my progress. There were a few times when I just prayed you wouldn't build fleet Marsailles and wreck my day. When it came down to it, though, is for much of the game we both had pretty much every unit we had tied up in other matters, and once I saw you get to the point where you did have some extra units and builds coming in, I knew the solo push was on, so I abandoned my position on Turkey completely, hoping he would be competent enough that the draw was the best either of us could do.
Turkey is a tough nut to crack, especially when he gets three builds in 1901 and there's no Russia to contain him. The west's indecision pleased me greatly, and thought it just might buy me enough time to get him contained, enough where I could start moving to the Med and push for a solo of my own
When it came down to locking up the stalemate line, I was a bit upset you made the solo push so soon when we could have cut at least cut out Turkey and England (and perhaps Germany, but two-ways are really hard to happen randomly). After the fact, I was really upset you didn't let me cut Turkey out of the draw (since, obviously, he prevented the draw from happening). I'm sure you feel the opposite on that fact, though.
It was a comical game, though. I loved seeing ava switch it up and moving east at the start, just for the board dynamic we don't see often. Unfortunately, it was Russia's first game which completely changed the dynamic of the east.
