Well actually the 3rd wasn't a CD. It was actually Turkey suiciding, giving me his SCs because you were being such a child in the chat. Really, I do encourage everybody to view the records. It's quite a rare game when two separate people will throw you the win at the same time because the opposition is so obtuse in the chat. And I'm not engaging in another chat war on the forums, I already finished it over in the game, evidence of your childish behavior posting an EoG before the game was even over and commentating as it went along to put you in a favorable public light.

I don't give a fuck about what light I am put in publicly. There were 3 CD's in this game -- you can rationalize them any way you want -- and you refused to draw. I tried to be civil, I tried to explain the idea that the 2nd CD really put the game into an unbalanced state, and you wouldn't do the right thing. I get frustrated, and I am sorry I lashed out, but you aren't innocent -- far from it.

Oh and I forgot, the 1st CD was a surrounded Italy quitting where I had double support going everywhere. The 2nd CD actually benefited Michigan more than it did me as he got 3 SCs from Austria to my 2. That's all.

Also, I posted the EoG when it was OBVIOUS you were going to win.

Bull, you put this thread up before Turkey threw me the game. If Turkey stayed in it, I wouldn't have won. Likewise if England didn't support me as well. The 2nd CD didn't put the game into an unbalanced state, everybody should go check the board at the date that Austria CD'ed. Austria fighting against the Triple Alliance is what put the game in an unbalanced state, not a CD. But now I'm seriously done, I'm not getting dragged into another clone of these. Have the last word if you want, there's no other reason to post a one-sided thread like this other than to paint yourself in a positive light and to smear me.

You can rationalize your unwillingness to draw anyway you want. To me, trying to say that his position was tenuous is not sufficient. Unless the guy was at that moment dead, or down to his last unit, one's departure unbalances the game. That is why it is frowned upon, and why players appreciate it when a dying player plays to the very end, and doesn't simply quit.

I wanted nothing pretty on my record at all NKcell, look after the CDs, Germany has just as many centers as me, and profited more from Austria's CD. I didn't want the game to end because they're difficult to find and create, everybody does gunboats so a replacement takes hours to set up.

that's why you don't replace. That's why you draw. it doesn't matter who made more profit. I can guarantee as soon as Austria CD'd, Michigan Man hit draw..you should have done the same.

Whether I profited or not is not the point. I posted a draw vote, and said in the global chat that we should draw. You posted something about it not warranting a draw. If I hadn't voted to draw, you'd have a point. Further, when Italy went CD first, I asked the same thing. You refused then too, and YOU were the major beneficiary of that one. Then, the 3rd CD (Turkey) gave you the win. You can call it "suiciding" but it was a CD, and you AGAIN profited from it. But I am the jerk here.

Heh, the funny implication behind all this is that Turkey fared the worst from Austria's CD, which is why I should've drawn. And yet, Turkey didn't throw the game to you, he threw the game to me, the person that was supposed to be screwing him over for not putting him in the draw, while you were supposed to be helping him. He even said in the chat that you were acting like a child. That just shows the circumstance of the situation, when my action is supposed to hurt a 3rd party the most, and yet the 3rd party comes back and helps me out because the 2nd party is acting childish.

Anyway, this has turned into exactly what I wanted it not to be. Yes, a rule of thumb is that when CDs happen you draw, and people who are in other games with me know that I do that. But in this game the rules of thumb didn't apply, because the CDs 1) didn't change the game, and 2) even if they did change the game, the guy that is supposed to be getting screwed over agreed with me anyway, and helped me out!

Alex, you're full of shit. You've confessed to violated the rule of thumb, not once, not twice, but THREE times, and yet you continue to rationalize. There is NEVER as CD that doesn't "change the game." Everything changes when a nation goes CD, especially a central nation like Austria -- who had 5 units at the time. Again, you can rationalize it all you want, but nothing you say will erase the facts: you refused to draw because you thought it wasn't appropriate despite the fact that EVERY OTHER player had voted to draw.

My opinion is that the game should have been a draw. Michigan man and his childish behavior was warranted by the others selfishness in wanting to try to win all the points.

Putting my 2 cents out here: Alex really didn't deserve that win, it shouldn't even be counted as a win. If there were 2+ CD's the game is usually crap, and someone taking advantage of it is even worse. In a FtF game the game is usually restarted when someone has to go.

After posting multiple times that you wouldn't draw you post this:

question, and it doesn't have to do with this specific game but similar situation perhaps. What if you have an opponent completely surrounded and clearly beat so they leave? Does the community see that as an auto draw situation or is up to the players in the game maybe? Just wondering as I have limited experience right now.

Yeah jmo, I shouldn't have said that first sentence in the quote, it was a mistake and not really what I meant. That being said I don't appreciate that because of that bad quote, you think that now I tried to win the game at any cost, it's a very sweeping generalization. It was a poor comment, but that doesn't mean that my whole game reflects it

And Gen. Lee, that's the argument that's going on in this thread. I was saying that Austria and Italy were clearly beat and them leaving had no bearing on the game besides being inconvenient for time purposes, but others are saying that because there were 2 CDs it should've been a draw.

This thread sounds similar to my nightmare game yesterday.
