Wrote this while we were playing. So it's kind of a play by play. Good game everyone.
A’03: Come on Italy, we’re waiting on you every turn. You’re not even finalizing builds. What’s with that, man?
A’04: France: I was fine with you taking Belgium. I’m glad you realized I wanted to be friends.
A’05: I’m wondering why everyone isn’t teaming up on me at this point. I guess it’s likely because there have been no eliminations yet, and you’re dealing with your own problems.
S’06. Quite expectedly, some hostile moves towards me. We’ll see how that turns out.
A’06: Unexpected move to Gal, Russia. I expected that army to come harass Munich and Berlin. At this point, I decided that even though I might lose some centers to a French attack, I had to eliminate Russia’s presence in the north, so I wasn’t fighting on two fronts.
And seriously, Italy. This whole waiting for the counter to tick down thing is getting annoying.
Builds: I wonder if France will build an army or a fleet. A fleet would be pretty obviously aggressive, whereas an army would help him defend from my dude in Burgundy. I kind of hope it’s a fleet. It would make things really interesting.
S’07: My moves here are very risky. I could go down very quickly if they don’t pay off.
A’07: I really, REALLY hope Russia disbands that fleet.
…
And I really hope he doesn’t NMR. I don’t want *that* to be the reason he disbands a fleet.
Oh. It’s retreats. I didn’t notice the army in Norway. I still hope he doesn’t NMR…
Phew. Thanks for not quitting Russia. You had me worried. Now please disband that fleet. :-)
S’08: Well it looks like they paid off. That was pretty lucky, to be honest. Although my moves were so strange they’d be difficult to guess. I’ll likely lose some of England to France, but I think I can make up those losses with St. Pete, and advances in France’s mainland. Hopefully I can guess well and I won’t lose much, if anything up North. I’m really worried about France getting into Norwegian or North at this point though, while I’m finishing off Russia.
A’08: Well France got into Norwegian, but at least I can force him out of London, and I’m guaranteed to go up one center this year, since France can’t take anything. I hope he covers his centers in mainland France – if he does, I’ll manage to take Pic, Bur, and Gas all in one go, and the rest of this will be easy.
I don’t think I’ll be able to push past the Tun stalemate though, which Turkey will likely hold, so I think my hope in soloing lies in armies, and picking up that 18th center in Russia or Austria. I’m glad that Austria is just flailing around trying to hurt the people that almost eliminated him. (And may yet) He’s provided a tremendous distraction for me, and I’m quite grateful.
S’09: Good play, France. I didn’t even think about supporting a move to North from London. I wish I had. I have Gascony now though, so I don’t think this can go on too much longer. I think that move may have cost me the solo though now, since Russia didn’t have a disband this turn. Fortunately, I’ll get to rebuild my army, which will stave off attacks from stray Turkish or Russian units. This might be a two way between Turkey and I. I’d be fine with that. Sadly, it looks like Italy is quitting, which will help Turkey tremendously. I hope he moves north first and stabs Russia instead of trying to push past Tunis now – the latter would mean a likely inclusion of Austria or Russia in the draw.
S’10: Turkey: If you keep pushing, I’ll be forced to set up the stalemate and vote draw. I hope you have the sense to not push past the line, and just wipe out your side of the board while I wipe out mine. But I don’t think you do, and I don’t think this will be a two way.
A’10: Turkey, what the hell. You’re going to keep going after CD’s that favored you THAT MUCH?!?!?!!
Thanks for Drawing, Turkey. You could have soloed. That shows a lot of class.
