A game says it paused on my Notices but did not pause
gameID=12152, Acorrding to my Notices:
Plan of peace
Game has been paused. Thu 09 PM
However, the game seems not to have been paused, maybe because of the reset phase times, and Italy has already gone into civil disorder. How is this sort of thing fixed?

So, I was wondering...
I'm supporting my fleet with two of my armies to a territory.
The enemy support-holds his army in the aforementioned territory with only one army. Normally, I would win. However, if he attacks one of my supporting armies that are in adjacent territories - does he manage to defend himself? A hasty reply would be good.
Thanx in advance!

I see it sitting there, started with 2 parties having left... I'd be interested in joining it but because it's locked, that's a bit hard. It seems silly to have a game just sitting there unplayable.

I get that you all don't really like me. I actually have nothing against any of you. I've slammed lots of folks in my forum posts and don't keep up with any individual specifically (well maybe Dingle, but I actually respect and like Dingle, so I pick on him). I'm just an opinionated asshole who likes to vent to strangers so I can keep my sanity and pleasantry around the people at home, work, and in game.

For my attacks on each of you in the forum (they are so "fresh" in my mind, I couldn't even tell you a specific example, but I'm sure each of you can provide one), I apologize. I will endeavor to be more respectful to you all in the future.

However... I'm still going to give my opinion, I'll just try to tone it down and do it more politely (aka I'll be more PC).

Oh, don't do that Draug. You won't be as easy to wind up if you tone things down.

can't really remember any really offensive posts from you.

the only thing I faintly remember was your silly misconception that deaf people can steal your secrets from the opposite corner of the room by lipreading

haha, who am I to get angry at every misconception I come across ?
@Akroma - The person the with knowledge and ability to inform them ^_^

Hey, Akroma I intend on starting a community VLOG within a couple weeks utilizing youtube for Deaf/Hearing people to form discussions similar to forums except more accessible to both types of people. I will be signing/talking aka sim com which is how I grew up but will have subtitles so hearing/Deaf individual can catch the things I didn't portray well to one or the other. If you have any dynamics input I'd be happy to hear it.
Akroma (967 D)
03 Sep 09 UTC
I don't have much experience with video blog (if a VLOG is what I think it is), but from what I have learned, you should do the signing first, and put the speech over it later.

the grammer of both languages is too different, and trying to do both at the same time is probably not easy, like saying two different things at the same time.

subtitles are useful too

though, if you just want to blog, I'd say there is no need to make such an effort. Just write. Deaf people who don't bother learning written languages are just lazy and uneducated, I hate the excuse "but I think in a different language".

(on a different note, why blog anyway ? Aren't diaries supposed to be private?)
Akroma (967 D)
03 Sep 09 UTC
in fact, since you will be signing on ASL, I insist on subtitles
TheGhostmaker (1545 D)

There are 58 references to "Ghost" in your posts Draugnar, and I'm shocked and insulted by the fact that you have always been a perfect gentlemen to me, even when up to your eyeballs in medication.

@Akroma - not all blogs are "diary" type journals. Some are there to provide assistance should someone else come across a similar problem. I get some of my best solutions to tricky problems working around inherent issues in .Net off of blogs.

I'm offended that I have not yet been offended by you. Granted, I've yet to play in a game w/ you, but that is irrelevant to my offense.
@Akroma - I believe you missed the point and I'll disregard your ignorance regarding a Deaf individual's ability to read or write.
It isn't a "diary" I hope that it will becomes a community discussion medium where we can do things such as debate that statement I'm disregarding :P

Secondly I'm well aware that it is two languages and becomes a pidgin when done at once like Cajun and other types. That is why I'm adding subtitles, like I said, for the things I miss in either or both languages. Somethings are better explained via one or the other so I will have focus on one or the other. Yes I will have spurts of ASL, it is mostly SIM com because that is the most natural method of communication for me.

Akroma (967 D)

@Sayo

please don't misunderstand me. I am not saying anything about the Deaf not being able to read and write (I mean, would I play diplomacy if I couldn't?)

what I am saying that I dislike the excuse "different language, don't think like that, etc" coming from everyone the very moment they have a hard time understanding or formulating a sentence.
I've seen you use that excuse on the forum before, and really, what's the point of that ?

take a look at deaf forums. some of the people there have the most horrid written english in existance (and from what I have seen, they are nothing compared to german forums, where the grammar is even worse).

I work hard to write in proper english and proper german, and dislike excuses like that.
On forums, you have more than enough time to double-check what you have written, or to re-read what someone else wrote.

You say that signing and talking at the same time makes it more accessible to both sides, but I think it's no good.
The more often and the more casualy your work with english, the better it gets.
In school, my english was bad. Then I discovered the internet and started chatting with people on english, and here you go, my grammer is ( most of the time) easily understandable and I only make few mistakes.

but whatever, it's just my opinion, and I know well enough that most don't share it
Draugnar (0 DX)
04 Sep 09 UTC
I can tell you are German, though, Akroma. No capiltalization at the beginning of sentences (english rules require it) most of the time. Your nouns are always capitalized (only proper nouns and the singular pronoun "I" in english), and there are a few misspellings that aren't just apparent typos (grammar, not grammer and existence, not existance, for example).

But your english is better than my german. I can barely order a meal or talk to a desk clerk at a hotel. I read it OK, but spoken/written... That's an entirely different story. Thankfully, most of Germany's travel-related and tourism industries (including the touristy restaurants) speak english as well, but I always try to read the german menu and order it in the native tongue so that I can order a meal when I'm in a smaller restaurant the locals frequent.

Just be yourself & true to yourself Draugnar, although i suspect that "you are not the messiah, just a naughty boy" i got in plenty of strife & wiped out in a game for critcising a duplicitous pommy in a forum, but went out and surf'd a perfect day at one of my favourite breaks. I suppose the notion that i was enjoyin' something most poor pommies stuck in the grime & squalor of their daily existence rarely experience & can only dream about put things in a better perspective for me, & "her indoors" came around & slay'd me with a spectacular performance, and then i had a dream featurin' an idyllic vision of Countess Tilly & a tea set, but i digress. Time for me to get back to the, i was going to say bush, but to avoid a double entendre, the outback & some work.

The green dots telling you that someone is currently logged on
I might be wrong about this but I have the feeling that those green dots also show up sometimes although the person is not online.
Just had that in one of my games where there was a dot after the French, that was then gone some minutes afterwards. Still it says: last logged on some hours ago.
