What is this idea?

So I personally am getting sick of seeing multi-account accusations/announcements all over the forum. It annoys me (and probably a few other people as well), but, more importantly, it portrays the users (us!) in a pretty negative light, when the vast majority of us do not cheat.

So, I propose that a separate forum be created for the specific purpose of airing multi accusations, where just the mods (and kestas) can see.

Then, multi accusations do not litter the forum, and at least we can seem like there aren't as many multi-accounts.

Good idea? Bad idea?

How about people just email privately? I think thats what we are supposed to do and is now the convention.

To make it easier the mods emails should be listed so we don't need to find their profiles.

Good call Centurian. Mods don't even have a tool that lets us locate people so when people simply e-mail me with the account name of a person with no link, I have to trudge through the games lists armed with my trusty Ctrl+F and it seems like an unnecessary effort. I hope this trying to get in before people's post doesn't become a habit... it's one of the first symptoms of illness in a forum. =(

In the FAQ for what to do if you think someone is a multi-accounter it says "Double-check and try and get lots of good reasons for your suspicion, then talk to the 'multi-accounter'. If you're still sure then post your evidence to the forum.".

Next to the emails just say "include the profiles id, its the number on the site address when you look at their profile". That might help you guys out, if only at the margins.

Also is there a list of the Mods somewhere so we know who they are?

Dangermouse, Chrispminis and wonderllama are the mods.

so yes, there is a list but it, like the others that preceded it, will die with this thread.

How about a dist list called [email protected] that would send to anyone on the list - that way, the email is constant, related to the site, but the list can change as mods come and go

well - to clarify - the other lists that preceeded the one centurian posted died on their own threads, not this one.

i personally believe there should be more topics about multiaccounting on the forum. we need to talk about it in public, not pretend like it's not happening!!

I agree I don't think discussions of multi-accounting should be tucked away. It is better that it is out in the open so that honest players are on the look out for it, and so that dishonest players are discouraged from trying it on.

philcore, I think Kestas did try to set up a similar sort of thing over at sourceforge. Can't remember what happened to that. Perhaps a simple addition to the FAQ would solve this.
