And THIS is why..
...All you whiny thought police wannabees that get so freaking uptight about this word or that are the fodder for my laughter. Because I know that the words that get your panties in a bunch only have the meaning and power that you give them.

Seriously -- think on this...as you read this:

Cutting a support move for your own unit
I'm sure you cannot cut support move for your own unit by hitting the unit that is supporting your other unit. However if another player is supporting the move of your unit would hitting the unit of the other player that is supporting yours cut the support for your own unit.

Essay help
So I have to write an essay on the Caribbean, and the topic I chose was the economic effects of colonization in the Caribbean from the 15th to 18th century.
I want the arguments to focus on how colonization benefit or hurt the economy, e.g. gold, sugar, slave trade

I would really appreciate some outside help with games I'm playing, kind of like tutoring, and I don't want to ask for help if you feel that it's unfair or whatever. I'm new around here, but enjoying the experience. I haven't played in -cough, cough- years and am glad I found this place. Thanks.

All this one-sided talk of Israel today reminded me why we have a nation in the first place - World War II. It also reminded me why the Jewish religion still exists, because of people like Winton. If you don't know the story:

Oh noes...the AIDS Researchers...
Just listened to Obama blathering about the AIDS researchers on the Malaysian flight. Oh noes...the AIDS researchers....suddenly this flight is more important than others, because of the AIDS researchers...

If it were just shmucks like you and I that had died…not so big a deal. But the AIDS researchers…oh noes…Anyone else think that every life is precious, not just the AIDS researchers….OH NOES!!!

For example, name-calling. As long as he does it, his discourse is below par, and that goes for anyone here. Libtard? That word needs to be retired, among countless others he has regrettably coined on this forum. However, my intent is only to contribute, so I'll refrain from correcting him outright since it seems you've taken on that position.
Draugnar (0 DX)

Since you've been gone, Thucy, Zultar has become co-owner of the site and most of us have been striving to make it a more inviting forum.

Why thucy, does that term hit home for you? Why don't you just act proud that you are one , and issue solved
jmo1121109 (3812 D)
19 Jul 14 UTC
@Thucy, I've personally no desire to babysit the forum to that degree and I doubt Zultar does either. It is just the more extreme and vulgar comments that really are widely considered unacceptable that people are being asked to tone down (so far anything related to cheering on kid's deaths, even sarcastically). Libtard really doesn't even come close to comments like that.

(didn't read the thread, responding directly to the title post).

Well, it's President Obama admitting the obvious: some lives are more precious than others. Some people are considerably more valuable to the future of humanity that the rest of the rabble.

Would you agree, Krellin, that if the flight was full of the world's political leaders, then it would have a very significant impact on history. The same goes for brilliant researchers. (assuming they were brilliant, I have not looked into them).

So what is more important, an AIDS researcher or a guy playing diplomacy and posting in webdiplomacy forum? I know where my vote goes for.
Octavious (2802 D)
19 Jul 14 UTC
Indeed. It is thanks to AIDS researchers that the public are aware of the odds of getting AIDS if you have sex with someone infected, and how those odds change depending on what precautions are used. Because of them we are empowered to make informed choices over how to live our lives.

Putin33 (111 D)

Braillard, you're a disgrace if you think Putin is Hitler. Ukraine's government is comprised of actual neo-Nazis who murder people with impunity. Putin's father fought against Hitler's hordes.

Your comments are offensive and disgraceful. You lost any respect you might have had from me.
FineRedMist (108 D)

Presumably, given the stated standards here, the only responses to "Libtard" and the rest of the name-calling noise is to respond in kind -- I hereby release "Cuntservitard" into the public domain -- or go someplace that has conversation that doesn't make the comments sections on Democratic Underground or FOX News's sites look like the Oxford Debating Society.

In other words, there's entirely too little moderation on here, assuming the goal is a place that a) is actually any use at all for discussing issues, and b) isn't so offensive and toxic that the average casual visitor doesn't leave forever after one page of comments. On most serious sites, comments like Chaqa's above are themselves grounds for suspension or a ban.
Draugnar (0 DX)
19 Jul 14 UTC
@FineRedMist - Go pound sound, assdouche. This is an open forum, not a formal debate, and as long as the site coowners don't wand to stifle the language, we are free to use it.
Draugnar (0 DX)

Oh and this site is about playing the game. The forum.is a side thing. It would be counter productive to ban players for their comments. Now banning non-players like you would be no loss at all.

FineRedTrollAss, shut the fuck up, dipship...you should be one of the statistics that go away. You wouldn't know a serious site if it back handed your momma in the face. Coming from mickeys playhouse to here gives you no fucking credibility, asstard

Of course you're free to use it. I'm as free to point out how you pollute what might otherwise be a place that's useful to a larger number of people instead of just being some kind of Petri dish for a handful of assholes to grow verbal slime in. Feel free to embrace the free speech attitude you so laughably claim to have and just smile and walk on when you don't like having your toxicity pointed out.
ILN (100 D)

Damn krellin, as i read the headlines i thought of the exact same thing.

If this would have been a crash with "normal" people, it would have just been a tragedy, if it's with AIDs researchers it's the end of the world. You should see how all the "science loving" hipsters reacted to this. ..
Braillard (201 D)

@ Putin33: if one's granpa fights Hitler it doesn't mean one can't get inspired by Hitler... And I wasn't referring to Hitler's ideology but strategy.. Nice to see that you are judging me out of one post that you didn't even read properly.

@krellin (when you'll be unmuted) : I really dont get you, how can you be both such a saint and such an utter dick? On one hand you condemn attrocities going on around the globe and on the other, you say proxy wars were great... You defend the worthiness of every life but then insult everybody that doesn't think like you..

If today's war are the result of a "weak" america, weren't yesterday's war the result of a "strong" America? Seems to me that you contradicting yourself in your statements. If every life is worth the same, then every opinion also is, isn't it?
Thucydides (864 D(B))
20 Jul 14 UTC
Do you do things simply because you're free Draugnar? I'm free to burn money in front of bums, but I don't because it's indecent and inhumane. But go on, call me whatever, since you're free to, I suppose.

Who is the free one anyway? One who acts outlandishly in attempt to assert his freedom to himself and others? Or one who uses his complete autonomy to consistently be kind and decent?

I say the meek shall inherit the earth and I think the meek wouldn't tell "shitstain assclown" at each other.

Why not worry less about others regulating you and worry more about regulating yourself, I say.

I invite you not to respond to this in anger because it isn't meant in jest. Peace.
