Is it okay to ask for help from outside a game?
I would really appreciate some outside help with games I'm playing, kind of like tutoring, and I don't want to ask for help if you feel that it's unfair or whatever. I'm new around here, but enjoying the experience. I haven't played in -cough, cough- years and am glad I found this place. Thanks.

Sir Nicholas Winton
All this one-sided talk of Israel today reminded me why we have a nation in the first place - World War II. It also reminded me why the Jewish religion still exists, because of people like Winton. If you don't know the story:

Hillary?
So fellow United States citizens. This next election in 2016 is going to be my first presidential election. I already have an opinion of who I would like to vote for, for reasons that I have fully developed. I am curious how everyone else feels about Hillary Clinton.

Oh noes...the AIDS Researchers...
Just listened to Obama blathering about the AIDS researchers on the Malaysian flight. Oh noes...the AIDS researchers....suddenly this flight is more important than others, because of the AIDS researchers...

If it were just shmucks like you and I that had died…not so big a deal. But the AIDS researchers…oh noes…Anyone else think that every life is precious, not just the AIDS researchers….OH NOES!!!

The Westboro Baptist Church has a SoundCloud page. They have 7h30 worth of parodies, some good, some bad (in terms of singing, production, etc.).

Chris Broussard is wrong about everything. I thought it was hilarious that SI scooped ESPN on LeBron. If Wolves wanted to trade Love they would have done it before the draft.
bo_sox48 (5202 D Mod (G))
19 Jul 14 UTC
The Cavs didn't have Lebron or Kyrie (re-signed, that is) before the draft. They weren't players until the day those two signed.
Putin33 (111 D)
19 Jul 14 UTC
They could have traded Love for draft picks and then used those draft picks to get whoever they wanted. There is absolutely no rush for the Cavs or Wolves to complete their rosters right now. Nobody is itching to pick up Love. Heck, the Warriors won't even give up Klay Thompson for Love.
bo_sox48 (5202 D Mod (G))
19 Jul 14 UTC
They probably didn't think he would sign long-term if he went out there. The Cavs are in quite a rush to complete their roster. LeBron said he's going to finish his career there but he's only under contract for two seasons, so if he's just sick of it (and knowing LeBron, that's not out of the question), he'll leave after two years. They need to build up quickly.

Had they known LeBron was coming back, they probably would have drafted Parker over Wiggins. He's ready to go out and play today, whereas Wiggins will probably need a couple of years to come into form, though he's killed it in the summer games so far so who knows.
LeBron's contract is for 2 years to take advantage of the rapidly-growing cap so he can restructure his contract for more $$$ as the teams go along. He's not going anywhere unless Cleveland hilariously screws the pooch.

Putin's right. Nobody is banging down Minny's door for Love with a reasonable offer. Cavs should slowplay it and see what they have in Wiggins and Bennett and then deal for Love midseason.
bo_sox48 (5202 D Mod (G))
19 Jul 14 UTC
I know exactly what he's trying to do, but do you really buy that when Cleveland sucks for the next two years he won't even think about leaving? I guarantee you Dan Gilbert doesn't, so he's going to end up pretty desperate for another big name and the T-Wolves will probably take advantage.
>when

You know what they say about assumptions... Cleveland is very likely to make the playoffs both years LeBron is in town, even if they don't change the roster at all. I don't understand why you seem to think he's impatient; he waited seven years in Cleveland and only left because Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Anderson Varejao and an over-the-hill-and-tumbling-down-it Shaquille O'Neal were the best players Cleveland could bring in during that time to build around him. He left Miami somewhat quickly, but I think that's pretty clearly different given the whole hometown-return angle to his decision.

There is no reason to rush into a trade for Love when he'll be around at the ASB. None. Let Wiggins and Bennett develop some so you get something of a known commodity and then make the deal.

And to be clear, Wiggins for Love IS a reasonable offer for Cleveland! It's not a bad trade. The problem is that Minnesota is the one with no leverage here -- Cleveland should be able to negotiate a better price.

Love has made it clear he wants to play for the Cav's. Why offer Wiggins at all? If he gets traded and does not sign he will be a free agent next year. Now

...you have Wiggins, Lebron, Love and KI. That is a good team.

Cavs should trade LeBron for Love.
bo_sox48 (5202 D Mod (G))

Yes, it's a reasonable trade, but if Cleveland were really in the drivers seat here, they wouldn't have put Wiggins up after all this time. They are desperate, and even if they're only testing the waters, they're opening themselves and the rest of the league to the idea that Andrew Wiggins is a commodity that they're willing to get rid of at the right price even though he is, ironically, touted as the "next LeBron James" given the time he needs to develop. I don't think the first LeBron James should want to give him up if there's the potential that when he's 35 and his hair is completely gone, he'll be able to put a little bit of weight on the shoulders of Wiggins and Irving instead of putting it all on his own, which he is essentially doing by returning to Cleveland.

Anthony Bennett, on the other hand, is still a #1 pick, and while he's not Wiggins, he wouldn't have dropped out of the top 5 last year and he's going to be a good player. Throw in someone like Tristan Thompson and you've got yourself a pretty good deal, and if it comes down to it, Dion Waiters is more than expendable. Those are the three prospects they should be trying to trade, because you're right, Minnesota has no leverage. Now that the Cavs are exploring the idea of dealing Wiggins, they're giving the Wolves the idea that they're willing to give him up even when it's not yet clear that they have to in order to get him.
Putin33 (111 D)
20 Jul 14 UTC
I bet you they didn't say anything about Wiggins. Broussard's just making stuff up.

What I've Been Saying About Gaza:
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/israel-iron-dome-could-prolong-195600244.html Main quote inside, but essentially--the Iron Dome, which has (thankfully) stopped hundreds of rocket attacks in just a few days now, has taken all pressure off Netanyahu to negotiate, while Hamas arguably stands to gain more from prolonging the conflict--ie, shooting rockets knowing they'll be intercepted and reprisals will come--than by making peace. So, settle in, boys and girls...

what is the average age of webdiplomacy players?
Is there a statistic? I want to know. In a game I felt I was playing with the stubbornness of a child. He/she wanted ALL his way. All the negotiation was "this is mine mine mine". He/she couldn't see the repercussions of a bad decision because he/she wanted the gratification of now.

Seriously, knowing the age of a person before starting a game or a negotiation can help a lot. Psychological speaking.
