Don't leave games. It's rude and people won't want to play with you again. Just play it out.

The bitter, bitter end. Play until that. Never leave. Everyone hates a quitter. Plus, I've seen people come back from an apparently hopeless position and win or take a decent role in a draw.

If you have a problem with time, you can request a pause.

There is no "quit" button you can press, or anything like that.

There is no way to officially quit a game. If you need a replacement for a prolonged absence, you may arrange a sitter by contacting another member of the site and having them log into your account and play for you in your stead. However, the mods will only consider replacement players in the event of a tournament or a game with special rules set up in advance that needs all seven players.

Always make sure you have enough time to dedicate to a *full* game. Otherwise, you are ruining a game for the rest of the board by quitting.

Also, like jamie said, you can always request a pause if your game is full press. If you are playing gunboat, you can request a force pause from the mods, but the most we can do is post a message in the game asking for a pause. The board is under no obligation to oblige you. Again, this is where having a sub can be helpful.

If you have a sitter, make sure to change your password to a temporary value for while they are sitting your account, and then when you are back, change the password back to your original value or to some new value if you prefer.

You're best to play it out. If stay on this site a while you will come to regret having resigns on your (permanent) record. There is a stigma attached to having resigns on your record on this site (with good reason, quitters ruin games for everyone else).
