Why we love Webdiplomacy.net

I like this website because people here are unique.

I appreciate that this forum is smart and intimidating. I have always been labelled an idiot or a genius and here its amusing how I am somehow both.
I wanna apologize though for being rude and deliberately misleading to this community. I also wanna say this site has already given me some friends I want for life.

ok, I don't get it. I click on games, and under joinable it says 70 or 80 some odd joinable games. Then I click on that, and there's a list of only a few joinable games. The next page has no joinable games. Where the heck are the rest of the joinable games?

Creating a string of misleading threads.

This is certainly considered forum spam. When I open my forums tab and have upwards of 3 of these threads all made by the same person that is spam. This would be akin to my following this thread with a "Creating a string of non-misleading threads" and a "Creating a string out of leading threads."

How do subs work? Are we talking about permanent subs, or babysitters? I'd consider it, but I'm not sure you want a newbie doing that... :/

A substitute is used to replace someone in the game if a player drops out (which happens more often than you'd think; the average is probably once per every 2 games). Sometimes a player drops out right at the start, other times they need to be substituted for personal reasons during the game.

@teacon7: We do want some substitutes lined up. I'm happy for you to put your name on the sub list because, at any rate, there's still a chance that one of the 5 players left to confirm is unable to play (at which point a new player is still more than welcome and able to play from the beginning), or someone might confirm and realise on Sunday that they cannot play after all (at which point you'd also be more than welcome to play). If someone needs to drop out mid-game, you're right that a new player may not be as well-positioned to assume the role without adversely affecting the game.
