Italy can't build fleets in Rome and Naples, and I can't build an army in Constantinople. Coincidentally enough, that's what we built in each of those locations before the reset.

Why are country's orders reported in the order EFIGART
I would have thought that either EFGIART or AEFGIRT would have been the norm,
not that it is a big thing... in fact it is a little tiny pick, but I am always curious as to why certain things are done by programers.

Unfortunately we do not quite understood the situational dilemma expressed by the Kaiser.

Perhaps he could examine the statement and evaluate as to whether that was exactly what was meant?
Maica (145 D)
02 Nov 08 UTC
Minister, I am also unclear which situational dilemma you are refering to, is it:
1. An alliance between the both of us, in which my enemy is also your ally
2. War with england and my iniability to fully participate
3. The natural Regional tensions that arise from the close proximity of our armies.

*a note for our English Brethren*
We are merely assessing the merits of this agreement, and wish no illwill towards you.
Friendly Sword (636 D)
02 Nov 08 UTC
To Quote: "IF such a thing were to be agreed upon, what would be the solution if Germany were to war with England, and England was an Ally of England?"

It does make sense to me.

And with regards to your supposed inability to make war with England. Firstly, the treaty is not necessarily designed to work against Britain. If for any reason Italy attacked either of our nations, the treay would come into play. It would also come into play in the event of Austrian or Russian agresssion (though admittedly we would not be in a grat position to help in that regard.
Also, the treay would be desinged specifically as a preventative one. It would mean that our neighbours would know exactly what they are getting into.
If Britain were to attack either France or Germany, she would be hard pressed to deal with both powers acting together

Thank you and Good Day.

We would also like to stress that we bear no ill will to any other nation mentioned thus far. We merely think that this treaty is a prudent measure in oder to have some security in the vent of the unthinkable, and hopefully that it would help prevent the unthinkable from occuring.

Unfortunately I must now retire for bed (even ministers sleep) but I hope to hear from my Deutsh neighbour by morn.

To whom it may concern:

Tittoni's vacation in Tyrolia could hardly be construed as an agressive act. How can one man and a caravan of gypsy hope to impede the great German army. I mean how much fire power can a man carry in his luggage anyway. I haqve recieved notice that Tittoni has reached his cousins house and that he is looking forward to some much needed R & R.

To my French neighbor,

My question was if a conflict of interest might occur from this MDT (Mutual defense treaty). If war broke out between Germany and power X, and France is seperately allied with power X, what course of action does France take?

Czar,

Our naval ministers still receive reports of rocky shoals in the Black Sea, and recommend you hug the coastline on your trip back to Sevastopol. However, the fleet movements you choose to make are ultimately your concern.

Unfortunately, the docks in Anarka and Constantinople are currently under renovation, with armies of construction workers toiling to correct some flaws. We will be unable to offer you the hospitality of our shores should your fleet suffer a mischief on the way home.

Her Majesty reads the dispatches with a mixture of understanding and concern between her friends on the continent. Britain has kept her word and is at this point peaceful with all.

Her Majesty would be willing to also discuss a mutual defense treaty with both France and Germany. Her Majesty has no plans for expansion at this time and hopes to be a voice of reason in diplomacy.

May the struggles in the south west of our lands never reach here.

To the German Kaiser, Her Majesty understand the nuances of discussing hypothetical situations with those who are negotiating and no offense was taken.

As to Italy, we are concerned with the reckless disregard in which the Italians have not listened to their neighbors.
HEr majesty plans to complete the shipment to Norway this fall.
Maica (145 D)
02 Nov 08 UTC
The Kaiser kindly asks if the newly arrived Queen would like to join him for the Ball he is attending in Amsterdam. He believes such things are proper for her Majesty's return to the continent after so many years apart.
GL2814 (134 D)
02 Nov 08 UTC
To the Czar of Russia:

Her Majesty wishes to inquire if you would have similar concerns of France as to how the retinue is shipped to Norway. It seems the North Sea is getting a bit tumultuous and it might be better to arrive in smaller vessels and provide our own transportation.

We are anxiously awaiting your response as it will determine at which of our facilities to speed up production.
trim101 (363 D)
02 Nov 08 UTC
a fleet would be preferable to a convoyed army dear majesty as the cusine i have laid on would be much more enjoyable for sailors rather than soldiers
GL2814 (134 D)
02 Nov 08 UTC
To France and Germany.

After reading the updates, Her Majesty does indeed grow concerned at the movements of Italy. A possible solution would be a British outpost either in Tunisia, or perhaps ust off the coast of Italy. Of course permission would be obtained from our French friends, whom our Majesty is certainly warming to, and if an acceptable agreement were to be made between Germany, France and Britain, Her Majesty would have no qualms about sending the fleet currently anchored in the channel to the warmer climes as foreign aid to tumultuous lands.
GL2814 (134 D)
02 Nov 08 UTC
To the kind and noble Kaiser,

Her Majesty would gladly like to see the sights of Amsterdam and awaits directions for the safest passage.
GL2814 (134 D)
02 Nov 08 UTC
The shipment should be docking in Norway this fall.
Maica (145 D)
02 Nov 08 UTC
To her Majesty,

While the Kaiser is thankful to hear that you have understood his fretting over the movement of Italy, and does acknowledge that while this peace that he share with the great Italians is upheld, the actions of them must too be checked. However, we fail to see how you could reach the land of Tunisia in time to have any say in its governence. The Italians, a sea people, are likely to take their new capital from the olives of Greece and use it to build a fleet capable of reaching Tunisia a season before Her Majesty's vessel could arrive.
GL2814 (134 D)
02 Nov 08 UTC
Understood,

Her Majesty wishes to be helpful to those that wish the peace to last is all. She does not want to upset the balance of power and would like to offer aid where needed, especially to allies.

Her Majesty has concerns that an allied France and an allied Germany could bode ill for our nation in certain circumstances. We have seen many partnerships form recently, and would hasten to state the value of Her Majesty's Ships as means of rapid transport in dire times. We have peaceful intentions towards Germany, France, and Russia at the moment and await to see where we are wanted.
Maica (145 D)
02 Nov 08 UTC
Her Majesty the Queen, we understand your concerns with such an alliance. I would ask that no measures be made hastily, as all will be revealed after the nations of europe return from their building. If France builds 2 armies we shall know that he is creating an enemy of Germany. For no other purpose can be seen for such creation. Likewise, if he build a navy in the port of brest he can be seen to be making an enemy of Britain.

Germany doth proclaim that no aggression is desire for any of its neighbors, but shall act according to their actions.
Ursa (1617 D)
02 Nov 08 UTC
Dear fellow rulers of the Nations of Europe,

we bid your excuse for the silence of our part. Like our minister announced elections were held this autumn, so no troop movements were made. We would like to thank you for your understanding.

To our collegue King Victor Emanuel, the Imperium of Nations is very happy to see the Greek people under the fine governance of Italia. We hope the stay of your foreign minister in Tyrolia has been refreshing. We would also like to ask politely if Tittoni can return home with his escort; after intensive elections our own prime minister, Von Staufenberg, would like to relax in Tyrolia a while.

To the Kaiser: brother, we thank you for your support on us, not only trying to protect our nation but also falsifying the Russo-Turkish slander against our Empire. We would like to ascertain you of our help and support in the future.

To the Czar: our sources hear distressing sounds out of our province of Galicia. After the peaceful practice our forces had reports tell a large Russian force has entered the region. May we ask you what is the purpose of this agression and transgression? In an earlier message you stated you wanted to move through Galicia - so where are you going?

To the Sultan: we now of a Dutch saying: 'the pot accuses the kettle of being black'. Now is this kettle only grey. Why do you want to insult the actions of the Austrian military in Albania? All we did was 'de-activating' some smuggling thugs, smuggling weapons to Bulgarian and Serbian rebels! This way we have assured the support of Turkish troops in the conquest of Greece. Besides, we do not understand why you think we have been insulting you while we only pointed the hard fought freedom from the Balkan countries. Dear Sultan, we don't think whining will make any impression on other powers.

The Austrian Empire is a peace keeping force; we will respectfully listen to any of our neighbours. But we will also defend the lands given to us by divine right. Any transgression might lead to war, so we urge any power who has expansionalist thoughts to reconsider their actions. Again, we are willing to work together with any civilized nation who understands what drives us.

Kaiser Franz-Jozef
Friendly Sword (636 D)
02 Nov 08 UTC
To the envoy of Great Britain:

We in the nation of France hope you are indeed peaceful, but the deployment of your fleet off our northern coast is a large concern to us. We would like our home supply centres to remain unthreatened in an ideal world, though this world is admittedly far from that.

On that note then, we believe it is wise to have to have a purely defensive alliance with our friends the Germans, just to completely ensure you keep to your word. And to the Kaiser specifically, this treaty I propose would take precedence of other treaties if it is breached. ie. If you were attacked we would respond as if France itself had been attacked and act accordingly.

And on a different issue, we agree with Germany that a naval presence in the Mediterranean by Britain is uncalled for and would be unwelcomed I believe by the Italians.
The Western Atlantic is the sovereign domain of the French fleet and we see no reason to have foreign ships patrol this area: we are perfectly capable of doing this ourselves.

Furthermore, we have assured the Italians of empty seas in the Western Mediterranean, and we are not about to let this be changed.

Thank you all, and I hope soon to hear back from Kaiser;

Théophile Delcassé
French Minister of Foreign Affairs
GL2814 (134 D)
02 Nov 08 UTC
Her Majesty would have no problem with a defensive treaty, as it stated if that did not bode poorly for us.

We have no desire for *another* war with the French. We are quite done to death with the back and forth and back and forth. Why, my great-great-great-great-great-(you get the idea) was at the Battle of Hastings and as he said of "Slick Willie"....but I digress.

Her Majesty now grows *quite* concerned after the latest dispatch of the French Minister and is quite thankful that she has seen to her borders. If France seeks a defensive pact with Germany, and has promised open waters to Italy, then that certainly narrows down the options for exploration and expansion from our Southern Neighbor.

I must state again that we will not act aggressively to France or Germany and consider them our allies for as long as they continue to consider us so.
As Germany stated, the intentions of France might be seen in the build to come.

Her Majesty does hope that discussions can continue, and would ask the noble Czar of Russia to kindly weigh in on the discussion.
Maica (145 D)
02 Nov 08 UTC
The Kaiser also saw that given the various agreement that have been reached between him, Russia, Austria and Italy a MDT with France would limit his nation to expand in two places: The isles of Britian or in Turkey. As such Germany has been reluctant to sign such a treaty until the intentions of each nation can be made visible through the Autumn builds. Unless we are so prompted, our alliance lies with those who are loyal to us.
