@brainbomb - I think there's a very simple strategy for town. Kill the lurkers. If they're town, they weren't helping. If they were scum, yay! Last game, 4 of the 6 mafia were lurkers, and the one talkative one (yourself) was rising high and fast on people's scum lists (you just managed to kill them all off as soon as they suspected you). My only other game, guak lurked as scum, bo and I were talkative and were fingered almost immediately, and Maniac....well, Maniac is really good at this game. So, kill the lurkers in order to force people to talk. The more talk, the more likely scum will leave tells.

The 'kill the lurkers' strategy is kind of like the strategy we took with WMDs in Iraq. If there are WMDs in Iraq, we're doing a good thing by getting rid of them (/taking them). If there aren't any WMDs in Iraq, we're still taking out a despotic genocidal maniac.

Of course, this analogy falls apart when one realizes that a) Iraq was expensive as hell, b) we didn't even give a fuck about WMDs in the first place, all we wanted was oil, and c) we've since made the Middle East even worse than it was before.

Either way, take out the lurkers. Just do it.
