Italy can't build fleets in Rome and Naples, and I can't build an army in Constantinople. Coincidentally enough, that's what we built in each of those locations before the reset.

Why are country's orders reported in the order EFIGART
I would have thought that either EFGIART or AEFGIRT would have been the norm,
not that it is a big thing... in fact it is a little tiny pick, but I am always curious as to why certain things are done by programers.

The Kaiser expresses his apologies for having not responded until late. Our nation has been preparing for the more academic of challanges and did not expect such a sudden and large amount of communication to take place. We shall respond post haste when possible. We send our best Ice Wine to the Tsar, in hopes that he might seek settlement elsewhere. Such nonaggression would surely be to the benefit of both our nations. The Land of sweden may be discussed among our two great nations.

To The Austrians we like to extend such an agreement as well. Of course all things can be amended as I have not yet read any of the correspondance among the nations of Europe. But in Due time they shall be heard, in the length of some 3 hours, in which I shall send out the appropriate messages.

But the Kaiser is present, just dont write so much I cant catch up!

I would like to send a messahe to the prime minister/diplomat/executive of Italy. For what purpose do you seek to see the land of Tyrolia? It does not sit wel with our munich natives, and they only wish to adore the southern neighbor, not live under him.

The Kaiser also will open negotians on Belgium, with the precondition that Holland is recognized to a land so similar to Us that surely it must be ruled by us. In the sake of balance of power, it would seem belgium would rightly go to Britain, so that each of the western powers claims 5 supply centers.

We also say to the Emperor of Austria, King of Hungary, that our interests are together, and we should not allow aggression with each other.

If Russia shall not enter Prussia or Silesia we shall not deprive them of Sweden, for they should naturally rule it as Germany shall rule Denmark.

To the President of France, we see your freudian slip, and raise you a bratwurst. We asl what intentions lay in the region of burgundy, and if a mutual stand off is seeked. If not, we shall be forced to stay in Munich, for the Protestants fear the Catholic hand of France.

the cazar says he will not enter Prussia or Silesia you have his word on that in fact the roads there are not suited to russian boots, but he does suggest that the neither of these two areas feel the tread of the might german forces either, these area areas of great beauty which would be spoiled by the sound of marching

From the French Foreign Minister to Germany and Britain:

As to Burgundy and Belgium. The people of France much dislike war coming to our territory, so a standoff would not be appreciated unless absolutely neessary. We would much prefer if no army attempte to set foot in that great region. Doing so would result in a frightful catastrophe for the erring party.

As to Belgium, we appreciate the need for balance of power, and we will consider negotiating British reign in the country provided we have have British guarantees of peace in other regions, and provided the garrison is naval in nature. The last time English soldiers were seen in the north of France, thier stay was remembered as an ill time indeed for Frenchmen of all stripes.

To Italy, we once again applaud your wise and incicive judgement, and we shall not station naval forces in the medditeranean unless there is an apparent need to. Such as the militarization of the Gulf Lyons, the Western Mediterranean, and of course Pidemont. And that applies to all nations.

Finally, we of the Third French Republic would like to wish all Eastern powers well, but will in particular be privy to deals with those nations that intervene with other nations in the event that they threaten France.

Finally, we now hope to hear from her Majesty of the British Isles, who I do not believe has yet adressed the concerns of her southern neighbour across the channel (that channel we hope to see berift of ships).

That is all. Salut.
Maica (145 D)

The peoples of Prussia and Silesia do not enjoy the sight of military either, Though we find it strange that prussians feel so now. They shall not be entered unless the Kaiser feels need to protect his nation, but as you have agreed to this peace they shall be left alone.

Might I suggest that Italy act as a moderator of the conflict that is surely to overtake the balkans. Unless he see's fit to threaten the Kaiser, in which the germans will not be pleased.

Exerpt from the Italian press:

Fellow citizens of this great nation. It seems we are in dire times. Both our near neighbors, Austria and Germany, have forbade me a well earned vacation to the pleasant land Of Tyrolia. It would be well if we prepared for the worst and hoped for the best. However, there is a gleam of hope in that our dear French Friends have agreed to peace and the Sultan of Turkey will allow us to export olives from the land of Greece. These indeed are good signs. We have also recieved back our fine food from Elgand now full of worms and rancid, anlong with a fine powdery substance that when tasted by my aide made him dilusional. We are yet to figure out the meaning of this strange turn of events.

People and Friends I will keep you posted,
Your servant and friend, Tittoni.

To the French Prime Minister.

greetings from Her Majesty,

I cannot immediately guarantee an open channel for a number of reasons:
First, it is after all named the English Channel. It is our by right.
Second, you French have a nasty habit of hiring Viking mercenaries and then when the job is done, giving them 1/3 of your country instead of sending them home. The last time this happened, we experienced nearly 400 years of turmoil.
Third, due to our commitments in other areas of the world, we need to have some sense of security on some front.

Would you be willing to concede the stipulation of only a naval fleet in Belgium? We cannot be so hindered *if* we were to agree to a neutral channel.

Minister Tittoni,

If you check your records, you should investigate your shipping crew. Your gift of kind foods was readily accepted and enjoyed by Her Majesty and we returned the gift/gesture with a box of our finest snuff, which I hear goes well with an after dinner red wine of sorts.

Please reread our last correspondence and forgive any semantical or linguistic miscommunications.

To return the gift was to return the gesture, which again, Her Majesty greatly appreciates.

Minister Tittoni,

It is because the Germans do not understand the desire to move to tyrolia if you truly wish to be peaceful with Austria. It can only mean then that you seek to attack Germany, a country which only wishes friendship for both of us, perhaps extending to our interests abroad in the future.
Maica (145 D)

To her Majesty, The Queen of England,

I accept your reign as the Queen of Belgium, as it is necessary that the Third Republic of France be frugal in its gains. I would also ask France if it is not in Her Majesty's interest to secure her channel to support her control of Belgium, whether by fleet or army, whichever you both shall decide.

Also, to the Leader of France, as I remember it is not yet a Presidential Republic, We asked for the stand off only for the purpose of mutual trust, but recognize your desire to leave it unarmed. Which, if a stand off occured, it surely would.

We also would like to Greet the Sultan of Turkey, as we have yet to address him. Though our interests may seem distant, they may become intertwined, and can only ask that we remain friendly.

*Shocked mometary silence from the French Foreign Minister*

I should certainly think that France, that our Third Republic is a Presidential system! Gah, what do they teach you in those German schools...

I am also concerned about the German advocacy of British military presence in the Channel. This would NOT be necessary for mere defense. One could almost suspect an ulterior motive behind the words of the Kaiser...
GL2814 (134 D)

Minister of Defense of France.

I again reiterate that helping with our allies in the Scandinavian areas and Her Majesty's vacation in Belgium have been invited by other areas of the world. With that much of a retinue away from our Isles, it is imperitive that we keep a secure front.

I have heard many well wishes from other countries, and invitations to vacation in spots near them, yet from France I hear stipulations and conditions.

At this time, I still think it would be in Britain's best interest to have a presence in the channel.

The Kaiser has made no stipulation to our presence in Belgium, and seems to understand our predicament were we not to have a presence in the channel.
Friendly Sword (636 D)
31 Oct 08 UTC
France has no absolute conditions. If you would examine our various proposals, all we wish is to not have to worry about our Northern border.

It is true that the English Channel is 'English' but I would like you to note that 1/3 of the centes it borders on belong to the nation of France.

France makes an absolute guarantee not to move into the English Channel and not to cntest Belgium (in fact support British into Belgium) so long as France has a guarantee that it will not face an army in Belgium, a fleet in the English Channel, a German army in Burgundy and dim prospects all around.

I'm sure you understand our concern as well we understand yours.
Maica (145 D)
31 Oct 08 UTC
I, as Kaiser of Germany, advocate English presence in their channel because of Frances previous unwillingness to grant them control of belgium, and continues to stipulate how such control will be granted. The english should support their own control of this territory, and cannot do so without the channel.

I wish no fear towards france, and respect its DMZ in burgundy, as it has so stated before.
Maica (145 D)
31 Oct 08 UTC
I too would be willing to support Her majesty's military into Belgium.
GL2814 (134 D)
31 Oct 08 UTC
With all due respect, Monsieur, what you are asking is for Her Majesty to hamstring herself. It is true that the channel borders some centers in France, but it is also true that for England to aide her allies abroad leaves us wide open to sudden attack were the channel to be left open. Realistically, it is much easier to overrun Britain unsuspectingly from France than vice versa due to the Mid-Atlantic presence that could support a move into the Channel from France.

As to dictating what type of military presence is allowed in Britain, I must respectfully disagree. Were tensions to escalate between France and Germany, a ground presence in Belgium would have more effect as a deterrent than a fleet. We would be able to quickly aide our allies in such a struggle whomever they should be.

I assure you that our presence in the channel is peaceful, and we will need that presence in order to relay Her Majesty to Belgium.

(I haven't mentioned Her Majesty's seasickness, and the Belgium waters can be most tumultuous this time of year). I believe that you will see after our plans are dispatched that with a shipment of fish and chips bound for Norway, and the vacation retinue headed to Belgium, we cannot leave our Isle open to the south.

I implore input from other leaders and thank Her Majesty's friend the Kaiser for his valuable input.
Maica (145 D)
31 Oct 08 UTC
Germany prays that their is no aggression from France, but should She try and tell us what we may put in lands that do not belong to her we will not agree. I leave the decision of Army or Navy to France and England, for I will simply support the agreed unit to it's new home. If the problem of the channel is not settled i will send my imaginary fleet there to be its peacekeeper.
Maica (145 D)

it is the czars opinion that the french president (he who has not accepted my offer of the russian ballet girls) is being unreasonable towards england stipulating what he can and cant do in his own territorial waters does seem a tab unfair and i beseech the president to be more careful and considerate in his demands otherwise he will seem to face a mighty alliance of england and germany
Friendly Sword (636 D)

France accepts this international judgement, and cedes that she may have been too zealous in her hatred of Belgium inasmuch as she suggested she be allowed to take it herself.

England: I pray that you see reason and do not deploy your forces in a manner indicating an immediate attack on French. Perhaps some might consider (wrongly in our opinion) the English Channel territorial waters, by no stretch of imagination could anyone cnsider Belgium a territory that is intrinsically British.

If anyone is to examine our proposals, they would not see demands or unreasonable stipulations. All they would see would be reasonable attempts to broker deals.

If the British continue to suggest that this is unreasonable to an extent that they feel the necessity to deploy a fleet to English Channel and an army to Belium, I think we can all see this for what it is- blatant warmongering.

To Germany: It is to the Germans then, that we Frenchmen appeal to in this time of tribulation. So far our dealing has been positive and proactive and we would like to continue this. Obviously by Britains rhetoric she would like to see conflict between Germany and I but I hope my continental friend would agree that this ould make little sense for either of us.

And in the event of an all-out assault by the power-hungry forces of Britain, we the French government would be willing to support the more peaceful armies of Germany into this troublesome nation. Provided the Kaiser is willing of course.

To Russia: France is deeply contrite for not responding to this offer of ballet girls. We Frenchmen are quite taken with both the arts, Ballet girls, and Russian theatre, and would be delighted to accept. Once again, accept our deepest condolences for this terrible breach of ettiquette.

We would also like you to reconsider your harsh judgement of French foreign policy. We have explicitly stated after some consideration and after the request was put forward, that we would definitely welcome British takeover of Belgium in the interest of geopolitical balance.

However, I do not think simple concern about two British nits abbutting French territory is unreasonable at all. I have NEVER expressed any intent to impede British interests in the slightest. Francei s equally vulnerable to attack as Britain is, and all agressive statements thus far have been made by our Anglo-Saxon brethren.

To all others: I beeseech you to recognize British expansionist foreign policy for what it is an act accordingy. Italy, Austria, Turkey, I hope we can have cordial and fruitful relationships.

Furthermore I invite you all (all those willing to accept to accept French sovereignty at least) to a new summer resort in eastern Provence near Nice. It is a place fit for Monarchs of the highest regard. Which of course the majority of you are.

Thank you all and good day.
GL2814 (134 D)
01 Nov 08 UTC
There is no warmongering. There is no expansionism. You paint us incorrectly, sir.

You call us power-hungry. Have you not seen good will and good wishes to all who have treated us accordingly?

The comment I made about being a peacekeeping goes back to the balance of power that has previously been mentioned with each of the European nations having five centers. Our presence in Belgium helps to balance things. If you take that to mean that I hope for war between France and Germany, when we would only have one army between the two of you? That would indeed be foolish.

I state to you sir, my intentions, since you seem so intent on misreading them. There is no ill will, other than the ill will of being misjudged.

Her Majesty plans to send ships laden with fish and chips to Norway. We plan to secure our borders to the south in the channel and move Her Majesty's retinue from Liverpool into Welsh territory. Then, after refreshing herself a bit in the hill country of Wales, Her Majesty plans to cross the channel into Belgium for holiday.

I do not like the insinuation of war-mongering. Looking back at our dialogue, you have come out of the gate suspicious. We harbor you no ill will. The troubles between our nations are long passed.

You have seen the good will I have offered to the noble Czar of Russia and the illustrous Kaiser of Germany, and the mighty nation of Italy. We met one another bearing gifts. You came with conditions.

I will go one further, my good sir. Her Majesty puts her relationships with the aforementioned nations on the line as collateral. We do not harbor any ill will towards France and your claim of expansionism is baseless. IF we do not follow the publicly stated orders, then may Russia and Germany drop the full weight of their might upon me.

Her Majesty wishes to communicate her good will to such an extent, that she is willing to delay, briefly, the goodwill shipment to Norway until she is safely in Belgium. If French territory is encroached by her Majesty, then we would invite Russia to blockade us from Norway with his fleet.

As to my "aggressive" statements. May I remind you sir, that it was you as an emissary of your leader that entered our discussion filled with demands and conditions. The argument could be made that the French want an empty channel and a limited presence in Belgium in order to further her own expanionist tendencies. We make no such argument, for France's actions shall speak for France.

May our peace last as long as possible.
Long Live the Queen
GL2814 (134 D)
01 Nov 08 UTC
I did forget to add that the delay to Norway would of course, preclude on Russia and Germany being willing to leave an empty dock int he harbor for when we arrive slightly delayed after our gesture of peace and goodwill.
GL2814 (134 D)
01 Nov 08 UTC
Germany: My dear friend. Her Majesty wishes to clarify an earlier comment. There is absolutely no desire for tensions between France and Germany. I was merely stating that a good British presence in Belgium could help solidify the relationships between all three countries. If Britain were to encroach on either Germany or France then the two of you could work together to drive us out. A neutral Belgium, or a Belgium held by a British Navy would be little better, in Her Majesty's Opinion than tipping the balance towards either Germany or France.

Please accept humble apologies for any mis communication that Her Majesty wants war between France and Germany. That is not what she wants to see.
Maica (145 D)
01 Nov 08 UTC
To the Queen of England,

The Germans understand your words, and as it was The Kaiser himself who suggested that the balance of power remain at 5 centers between all western nations. We reaffirm our willingness to support this balance, by supplying what ever unit is agreed upon by France and yourself.

I respectfully reaffirm my agreement with the Minister of France that Burgundy shall remain unoccupied by either of our forces. Since France has previously agreed to this, I shall consider it an act of aggression.

We would also ask all the other nations to let France's cries of warmongering go unheeded until any true warmongering is shown. The eastern nations have not shouted such things about the division of the Balkan nations, in such a fashion we western nations should due likewise.

We also are willing to listen to the proposal and grievances of France, lest they be the aformentioned.
Maica (145 D)
01 Nov 08 UTC
Also, we ask if France, in his last correspondance, if he did not invite many a nation to invade Piedmont, for this land Contains Nice, and surely would be calling for war in Italy. Unless I have misunderstood.
Maica (145 D)
01 Nov 08 UTC
