Pop quiz (test on media performance)
Now that the Arizona legislation has been vetoed and the issue is gone, I'm curious.

Please -- in your own words, and *without reading or re-reading any sources,* state what you think the recent controversial Arizona legislation said.

Tactical Advice
Hey, all. I was wondering if someone would be willing to provide some tactical advice. I am new to the game and am still unsure about some of the rules. I am playing England and am engaged in a struggle for Scandinavia with Russia. How do I avoid a stalemate up North? Russia has a strong alliance with Austria, and I France.

On the subject of distance running...
I'm running a 10k later this spring. My best recent 5 mile time is 35:08, and my best 6 mile time is sub-42 minutes. What is a good time to make my goal, and are these good times for an amateur? I don't want to embarrass myself.

How do you view the role of government?
This is a survey, not (yet) a debate thread. bo's thread about Arizona and the responses therein got me thinking about the question, and I don't think we've explicitly discussed it here in a while. I want to start out just getting answers to the question and then we can argue about them all we want (as is webDip tradition).

Well today was interesting
Normally I find the news on main websites pretty stupid (what celebrities hooked up today, etc), but I was pretty intrigued by the battery-less flashlight, the knife attack in China, and Russia trying to start a war.

Is the distribution of which empire one starts of with entirely random or is it influenced in any way? I've checked my game history and I've been assorted Austria on 8 of 15 occasions and am getting slightly bored of it.

Back to the OP --- The Obama Administration apparently SUES companies that FAIL to provide Religious considerations....to sum it up: Muslim workers refused to deliver alcohol and were fired. Obama administration sues company, saying that their religious rights were violated.

And so it is in America 2014: Muslims are a protected class. Christians are prey with no rights.

@Putin,

Small correction.

"And Texans aren't paying for Californians. And South Carolinians sure as heck aren't paying for anything in New York. That much is obvious. The states which whine the loudest about the federal government are the net gainers of federal dollars. And furthermore the very fact that Texans aren't paying to educate anybody else, let alone Californians is probably why our education system is so unequal. "

Texas was a poor example. It actually pays more than it receives, unlike California.

@krellin

I think it's ridiculous to work at a trucking company and refuse to deliver a good as common as alcoholic beverages. The case has close to nothing to do with the OP though. I mean, first off, did any Christians get fired? Link please. Secondly, the OP was not about Christians getting fired at all, the OP was about Christians discriminating against gays. Seeing as how appalled you are by Muslims discriminating against alcohol drinkers, if you were even the least bit consistent (which I realize you are not) you'd be siding with the gays in this case.

@oscar - IRRELEVANT. OBAMA Adminstration is suing the company for failing to accomodate their religious rights, which includes them choosing what they want to do at work.

That you are too utterly dense to see the comparison to the current debate in Arizona simply makes you a moron and yet another Libtard suffering from the deep throws of Libnial.

krellin (80 DX)
27 Feb 14 UTC
And - the OP is about religious liberty. I know, understanding the underlying principle behind the specific of the OP is a big stretch to ask of you...but someday you *must* try to put the big boy pants on and learn to draw connections...
krellin (80 DX)
27 Feb 14 UTC
And oscar - final point, because you are (again) a moron and need these things explained -- I didn't express any outrage about the Muslims -- I simply pointed out a fact regrading an action taken by the Obama adminstration. I haven't even come out loudly in support of any side in AZ, other than to point out that the issue is one of religious liberty.

That you want to attribute to me a bunch of shit I never said is simply par for the course from the screaming Libtards around here. Bravo, dance monkey, you never fail to perform!

Krellin, where were all these freedom fighters for religious liberty when their ilk were trying to impose Christian prayer on schoolchildren all over the country for the past century?

Semck, thanks for the correction. We ever going to get your summation of the law? Or still wanting to bash the media?
Putin33 (111 D)

"And so it is in America 2014: Muslims are a protected class. Christians are prey with no rights."

Oh shut up. This was a clear violation of federal law. Muslims are a protected class that's why they were prevented from building a mosque in TN because Muslims are so protected.
krellin (80 DX)
27 Feb 14 UTC
Putin - you are apparently as stupid as Oscar. If you want to ignore the actions of the Obama adminstration as it relates to (the) religious liberties (of muslims), then that is your own hypocrisy that you must process yourself.

I am presenting evidence that suggests that this nation is as best of a split-mind on when it is perfectly acceptable to descriminate based upon religion, and when it is not. Our wonderful government (Putty baby...you ARE an Obama backer, are you not??) seems to love all things Muslim, but has a particular fondness for smacking around Christians trying to express similar religious liberty.

Ignore that if you will -- it is exactly what we would expect from you.\ and your pathetic, intellectually dishonest ilk.
krellin (80 DX)
27 Feb 14 UTC
And Puttybaby....no need to get your undies all in a bunch, prettyboy! If you want to talk about a mosque, then let's talk about a mosque. I haven't expressed an opinion one way or the other on that - but feel free to ask me, douchebag. But bringing up the Mosque issue does nothing to detract from the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT stepping in to PROTECT THE RELIGIOUS RIGHTS OF A PERSON (MUSLIM) TO **NOT** PERFORM CERTAIN JOB DUTIES THAT VIOLATE HIS RELIGION.
Putin33 (111 D)
27 Feb 14 UTC
Yes they love Muslims and hate Christians that's why they're sending drones to kill Christian wedding parties in Yemen, Pakistan and Afghanistan, oh wait.

I see Krellin has turned into one of those Obama is a closet Muslim who hates Christians freaks.

Putin33 (111 D)
27 Feb 14 UTC
Yeah I see you don't want to talk about the mosque because it flies in the face of your dumbass "Muslims are a protected class while Christians are oppressed" narrative. Let's just avoid talking about everything that is inconvenient for Krellin's whine-parade.

<....so much fun to watch the moronic Libtards frothing at the mouth because their precious fantasy-world is being deconstructed around their heads. dance, you silly monkeys, dance all you will....it won't change the facts. I'm sorry that your carefully constructed lies that you tell yourself about the world/your country ae consistently proven wrong when facts enter teh conversation. I must cause you a great deal of traumatic confusion....as demonstrated by poor wittle Puttybaby's outburst...
Putin33 (111 D)
27 Feb 14 UTC
Hey Krellz, is the federal government infiltrating and surveilling churches? Oh no? They're on record as having done this to mainstream mosques across the country. But Muslims are protected while Christians are oppressed, right?

Putin -- assclown, I know that you are *quite* reading dificeint. I said...let me quote, fucktard: "If you want to talk about a mosque, then let's talk about a mosque."

You ignore that and attack me because you are, no doubt, afraid to actually get in to teh FACTS about that issue, and afraid of what I will say.

What a cry-baby child you are.

Here's some kleenez, go cry about the poor oppressed Christians and fuck off.
Putin33 (111 D)

Fro the record, re: building projects: Building projects get turned down all the time for various reasons in communities, most often havign to do with zoning reguations. In my own home town, I have seen at least three building projects rejected by township zoning board: 1. A bapist church wanted to expand its building (rejected), 2. I self-storaged facility denied permits to (of all thigns) build a permanent sign to advertise the business by the roadside, and 3. A hotel/retail establishment denied a permti to build in a retail district (for purely political reasons, it seems).

So sorry, putty-baby, if you want to talk about your mosques (of which I see *everywhere* in the Detroit area, by the way...) then lets talk. Perhaps you just live in a town full of fucking bigots, assclown.
krellin (80 DX)

Putin -- I haven't seen you present ONE FACT in all your blathering. But you are deflecting from the issue which I presented with a link/facts about Obama defending the rights of the Muslims, even as Christian rights are under attack in Arizona.

Pooor little puttybaby....facts hurt, don't they, crybaby.

Refusing the community center in NYC and Murfreesboro had nothing to do with zoning, freakshow. It had everything to do with religious discrimination. Glad to see you, the freedom fighter for religious liberty, have not problem preventing Muslims from building mosques and community centers. Now we can move on and ignore the rest of your whining about the 'religious liberty' of anybody.

krellin, I agree, both scenarios are stupid. If your religious beliefs prevent you from delivering alcohol, then you shouldn't have a job as a delivery man. Religious freedom is not an entitlement to be an idiot or an excuse for special treatment in your job.
