Was it perhaps canceled because one of the players was a mod and they didn't like where the game was going?

I had posted in the global chat of that game that it was going to be cancelled for cheating before anyone joined. 4 players were banned in it for cheating, per the site rules I am required to cancel it. My thread was for game in which someone was banned, but did not have any cheating influencing the game.

@jmo, in those situations, while force pausing the game, could you also toss a password on it, so that people don't join thinking the game will proceed regardless of the global chat? Just a thought.

jmo created and announced the new rule about bannings and cancellations about a year ago in the forum. It's left as an exercise for the reader to actually locate it in Google.

What is the rule exactly? Four cheaters and a game is banned? What if there are three cheaters, does the game still continue?

I think it was 2+ for probably and 3+ for definitely.

"Canceling games
We will consider canceling games when there are 2 or more multis in the same game and they had a considerable effect on the game as a whole. We will encourage the remaining players to cancel on their own. If they do not, we will ask for an explanation. We will determine if the explanation is warranted and either leave it alone or force cancel with an explanation. If no players have been eliminated the remaining players may choose to draw the game before it is cancelled."
