Pilsner is all the beer variety a working man needs to have some quality time with friends - which should be obvious to anyone who actually goes to a pub after work. Excellent drinkability and reasonable alcoholic content. A well-made Pilsner is a safe haven for any drinker, a benchmark for all other beers, a beer you will always come back to after your love affair with the latest novelty microbrew vanishes.

If youa re talking "micro brews" as American beers getting better...that's bullshit. they are micro brews....not "American" beers representing Amercia across the globe, and thus can not be considered in the overall comparison of "globally marketed" beers.

Sam Adams. Once a micro now a major player. One of the best "available everywhere" beers in America. Great Lakes. Another available all.over the place. Micro breweries no longer limit their availability. Some have even chained the restaurants and brew their great brews like BJ's Jeremiah Red and Pirahna can be gotten all over the nation at all the BJ's brewhouses. But it is brewed right in the store.

You wax poetic about our pretensions, while you make your own doubtful claims of our stupidity. You think you are just as right as everyone else, and the irony is you are asshole about it. You claim that someone's opinion that Coors light is a shit beer is being an asshole. I disagree, someone yelling asshole at everyone in the room is the asshole.

The problem with your run of the mill American Beer is that it is made bland. People aren't dumb for liking bland beer, they just like bland beer. Do you wear nice clothes? Do you drive a nice car? Or, do you indulge in any of the finer things: a good scotch, designer sunglasses, filet mignon, etc? I am sure you do. It is a matter of taste, and in some cases income. But, mass production does not make something better.

Americans like to drink alcohol without tasting the beer, that is fine. Our advertisements encourage us not to taste it by suggesting that they be served at super cold temperatures. However, many of the flavors in beers need to aromatize before we can taste them. Don't get me wrong, if I drink a bud, which I do on occasion, I drink it cold. But, the fact remains that this actually dulls the flavor.

For you to say that Craft breweries are not American is ridiculous. Craft breweries are a type of small business, as we all know they build those businesses and are the backbone of America. There are 2126 breweries in the US. Of those 2075 are craft brews. That is as America as it gets baby.

Frank, I'll put in my two cents in support of what lando would say about Ontario beers. There is a fantastic microbrew scene with something for everyone. I've had a lot of different American microbrews and ontario's stands up to the best I them.

Right, a *shot* of one, which is 1.5 oz has the same as 12 ozs of beer or 5 ozs of wine. Which means if you filled a beer can with hard liquor it'd be the equivalent of drinking 8 beers. How you can argue these things are equivalent is beyond me. There's a reason why moonshine is illegal but home brewing is not.

There is a reason bars limit people on drinks. Face it Putin, you like to drink beer and wine and banning all alcohol woild take away something you like, so you are a hypocrite and only want the stuff you don't drink banned.

And what is that reason that moonshine is illegal?

Oh and a mixed drink like a mojito or a pina colada has the same alcohol as a glass of.wine and is about the same size.

Moonshine is no longer illegal as long as any income made from.it's sale is reported to the revenue department. Also, home brewing is illegal if sold.or made in large quantities. Putin is prevaricating through omission with that fallacious argument.

So a quick review shows that personal consumption distilling is still illegal. But the official stance is because the impurities in the hooch like lead and not because of the alcohol's proof.

Pretty sure the official stance is regulatory capture by commercial distillers.

Ok now that Draugnar found out he doesn't know what he's talking about we can return to talking about beer.
