Oh well A) we're both friends with them anyways and B) it's fine as long as no boundries are crossed. I know not all couples are mutual friends with their co-workers outside of work that's why I asked.

Peg knows her and another female coworkers from poker night. But Peg doesn't realize the flirting at the poker table isn't jist a ploy to get me off my game (never works as I have yet to lose a home poker tournament at my house). We always "flirt" with innuendo and sit by each other at meetings and social events like Happy Hours and group lunches. Peg is the jealous type so she never will know either.

No, I flew. Calgary is near the Rockies and at least a two day drive alone. Plus it was a business trip so the flight, rental car, hotel and meals and stuff are reimbursed and billed back to the customer.

Having had several work wifes - I've been able to keep things on straight and narrow by being open with my real wife. I feel for you if your wife is the jealous kind, I've never understood that emotion.

Anyway, I usually buy presents by taking the work wife shopping, I've ended up in lingerie dept and sex shops where they have tried to embarrass me by walking out of changing rooms in next to nothing. It's all good fun and allows them to be as flirty as they like whilst setting the boundaries.

Yikes, Manic, those boundaries are way too far into your own territory, meaning your personal family life. I'd ask your wife to pick out a present for your office friend, and stop playing with your friend's emotions. It may be all la-de-dah to you, but women are wired differently, and it's not good for either of you. I just watched a spy movie (I forget the name, sorry) in which the Russian work/mistress shows up at the man's house on the ruse of wanting to buy one of the puppies they have advertised. Things go downhill from there.

As long as both his wife and friends are fine with it who cares? I know people who do have relationships like that. Not me, but I'm not one to do that kinda thing in the first place.

Well, I startes by buying a stuffed timberwolf puppy with a maple leaf on one paw along with a small box of maple filled chocolates. But her boyfriend and her broke up late Thursday, so Friday before I went to the airport, I went to a souvenir shop and got a stuffed moose holding a baby moose with the words "moose hugs from Canada" on the feet to hopefully cheer her up Monday morning.

Now all you have to do is break up with your actual wife and we're set to go.

Not happening. I have too much invested in getting the inheritance from my mother in law. :-)
