On my other PC I can log in, but every time I click on a game or one of the links up top it logs me out and says Welcome, Guest. Anyone have an idea how to fix this?

Would someone be kind enough to post the links to the league games please? I am interested to see what's going on in other groups.

Have any of the games actually completed yet?

What McCain said during the last debate...
About 25 minutes into the debate McCain (in reference to townhall meetings) said, "The way Barry Goldwater and Jack Kennedy agreed to do before the intervention (touches nose & corrects himself)... the tragedy at Dallas."

Controversy
What is the most controversial thing you can think of to type in here? Why is it controversial?

"And something is controversial if it has been greatly argued by opposing sides"
I have to disagree, when people argue about fact from an ideological point of view then argue a lot against something that is not at all controversial.

Take evolution, nothing controversial about that but you'll still (and I bet even here) get a pile of crazies who argue against it because it contradicts their ideology (or because they were indoctrinated to).
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Evolution and maniacs can humans ever shut up about either? What a waste of perfectly good organisms humans are.

wow skeptic, you sure got worked up over that one. No one said I believe that stuff, and If you want a debate about my abortion views we can do that, but posting ridiculous things is so much more fun. And because you believe something doesnt make it less controversial. Abortion is controversial, whether it is based on fact or ideology doesnt matter. You just like to think you have the only valid opinion

and if you killed my finger I would be pretty pissed. It has a right to life too!

Well, Skeptic has a point with ""A life is a life, no one should have the choice of taking it away". People always ask how you can be against abortion and for capital punishment. You MAY have a valid reason why you take those two positions, but 'a life is a life' cannot be your reason to be pro-life. You can have other valid reasons, but not the 'life is sacred' if you believe in capital punishment.

Likewise the argument for/against gay marriage. While there are plenty of reason to be for or against it, it seems to me it is hypocritical to be against it 'sanctity of marriage' reasons. If we were to outlaw gay marriage to protect the 'sanctity of marriage', don't we also have to outlaw divorce for the same reason? I crack up when someone mentions the sanctity of marriage when more then 1/2 of marriages in the US end in divorce.

How did we get on these heavy topics? Can we go back to the best way to prepare a fetus dinner for two?

I dont support Capital Punishment, fyi. And I could choose any reason to support anything.

sry valoishapsburg, I did kind of use a sledgehammer there and I agree abortion can be controversial, what I was trying to point out though (before I got detracted) was that statements that are false/true aren't controversial.
One quick look at the definition of murder and you'll see that "Abortion is murder" is false.

Controversies occur when the facts aren't completely in yet.
e.g: 1st Person shooters make kids more violent.

or when people have different values:
e.g. (safety vs privacy): Everyones DNA should be in a database so that criminals could be identified easier.

And as I said before, religious stuff like "Jesus was a Heroin addict" are only controversial within the particular theology, for the rest of us its mostly nonsense.

Would the statement "There's a ghost in my room" be controversial? (I got no evidence to back it up, but you've got none to disprove it)
If not, then what if 50% of the population in say new Zealand (half way around the world from my room) believed it were true.

btw, fetus' taste better with a side dish of (fried) human fingers.

I started this thread because I heard a stand up comedian say

"Mother Theresa was a money grabbing whore, hungry for black cock"

And I thought to myself that it was possibly the wrongest thing I had ever heard... Any thoughts?
I would say it is offensive but not controversial. Obviously, there is no evidence of that statement and would be difficult to argue.

regarding Mother Theresa: "...MT was not a friend of the poor. She was a friend of poverty. She said that suffering was a gift from God..."
from Slate: http://www.slate.com/id/2090083/
I would give you "money grabbing" but I doubt anyone will find any evidence that she ever was whore or hungry for black cock. Again I don't see anything controversial here, just false. And as Sean said is was meant to offend but if that offends you then you probably shouldn't be listening to stand up comedy. :-)

To pause or not to pause... that is the question
In one of my games, a user requested to pause the game as he was not able to enter moves. I have chosen to accept, but the thought of not accepting crossed my mind (one reason being that the player is in no way bound by their pledge to start it again at a certain time).

Looking at some of the Winner takes all games, it appears that the stated restriction about >100 points to join doesn't apply. Does anyone know why? (Possibly this was in a previous post I missed)

End of Game Statements. Brief explanation?
I read of the existence of EOG statements in some other post, but - not having finished a game yet - I do not exactly know what this means (who does it? What is the typical content of it? Etc...)

Anybody would like to explain? Thanks!

3rd Presidential Debate: Best Moment ?
For me, the best moment was when McCain asked Obama how much his fine on Businesses ('Joe the Plumber') is if they didn't provide healthcare. He really hammered Obama on it. And Obama replied "zero, I provide an exception for small businesses." McCain was just floored, stunned, and looked like a dear in the headlights, a shocked/blank expression for a full minute.
