The citizens of Super Mario World gathered at the town square in front of Peach's palace. They shivered in the cold as the sun had not shown over Super Mario World since Bowser and his cronies had invaded. Somehow, they had duped citizen after citizen into voting for Bowser in the coming election and threatened to kick Mario out of the land entirely. It was a scary thought.

Their gathering was interrupted shortly by lights in the sky, a sign of the coming terror. They dispersed, leaving their friends and families to fend for themselves. Soon came a gang of angry zombies wearing straw hats and steel-toed boots, holding broken bottles of whiskey in one hand and a double barrel in the other. They fired shots in every direction with no regard to who they fired at. They hit civilians, officers, and the like. It was not long before they were forced to take shelter in an empty, unmanned bird sanctuary where they drank their whiskey and used dildos on each other to pass the time.

The citizens came together again and agreed that they must weed out any remaining zombies from the crowd. They decided that, since they had absolutely no idea who among them might be a zombie, they would trust brainbomb, the Joseph McCarthy of their time, to shed light on the traitors. Immediately, he chose ND, who he brought forward with the help of a few local comrades. With the crowd around him growing angrier, ND declared:

"It is not I who you seek! I am simply a loyalist. I am one of you."

But they would not have any of it. Soon, his words were drowned out by the cries for his head. Ever loyal, brainbomb's comrades obliged, bringing in Petey Piranha to finish the job. And finish the job he did.

@captainmeme: True, although EST and EDT do refer to the same thing time zone: Eastern Time. Google search for either produces the same result, thankfully.

Using timestamps for deadlines in game makes no sense and is a terrible way to do it. It's fairly well known that webdip's clock slips out of time regularly (any live game player knows this) and there's no live clock on webdip to tell what webdip time it is anyhow, so no player (or GM) is ever aware of when exactly the phase will end. The only way to tell is to spam posts until the timestamp changes, which you can't do because it makes the thread unreadable and webdip stops you doing it anyway.

Using universal time sites was met with resistance in the first game it was used because it wasn't announced at the start and the result of the phase would've been different otherwise. However, nobody's complained since then and it's been a great deal more convenient and better for both players and GMs.

for the Easter extension can we have a day of no posting? it would make it easier to catch up after the festivities.

The Easter Extension is provided because most players will likely be busy elsewhere, and therefore the game thread will be less busy anyway. The GM team is agreed that an extension, rather than a prohibition, is the best way to cater for players and GMs during this period. Posting on the game thread will therefore be permitted as normal during the Easter holiday extension.

I've tested http://time.is/ twice now and it appears to be in sync with the WebDip timestamp. But for clarity, you can refer to the time.is website if you want to be precisely aware of the EOD/EON.
