Not to surprising. I would rather cut spending there and to defense and reinvest it to where it's need. Our infrastructure for starters could use a little help.

First off, the only number that I can find is 360,000 rounds, which is a bit under billions. Secondly, the Department of Homeland Security isn't the military. They are not fighting a "war" in the usual sense. This would be anti-personnel against terrorists. Hollow point bullets seem like they would do the trick. Finally, not everything is a conspiracy.

We don't need to spend anything on defense. We don't have to be the international police; the world we live in in North America is as safe as it's going to be in my opinion (though Mexico's needing of some help, but that's irrelevant). We need to get rid of our legacy of the worldwide military power that we earned in the world wars; it's not doing us any good.

@bo - Nothing on defense? That may be a little far fetched. But reducing what we spend in order to police the world and spend it at home? That is an idea I can get behind.

Anything is used as a relative term... we need defense, we don't need offense. We don't need to spend 19% of our budget there. I'd call 10% the absolute maximum.

It was misstated by Gun that billions of hollow point rounds were purchased. I, correctly, stated the figure was 360,000. Krellin linked to a story that showed 1.6 million rounds or ammo, with a portion being hollow point, and declared that I could not use Google correctly. I pointed out that he did not closely read his article and linked to the actual article showing that they were looking to purchase 360,000 rounds of hollow point ammo. Krellin, once again, claims that I can't use Google correctly.

As far as I can see, those are the facts.

No, krell, you called him out on only finding 360,000 rounds. A number he gave in response to Gunfighter's original claim. You can't call him out and then claim he's wrong because you attempted to change the topic after he had said what he said.
