Why 10 minute live games?
Why 10 minute live games all over the place right now? It's almost never the case that you get 7 people who "ready up" so it just turns into a double-length live game.

Two live games were canceled recently due to cheaters
I just canceled two games due to the fact there were cheaters involved. The game had just started (1901-2) so I hope no one lost too much time.
Cheaters, just beware. We are on the lookout and we will ban your cheating ass, live games or not.

Austria/Italy destroyed Russia/Turkey and France/Germany took care of England. Could Italy have been kicked out of the draw in the end? Could Germany have made a run in 1911?

General comments for my brethren. I was not thrilled with my draw - 3 Germany, 2 Austria, 1 Turkey, 1 France, but hey, CStein got it worse with all Italy and Russia. Thanks Mapu, The Czech, Fulhamish, ava and Speaker for a great round, even if the very end was a grind!

Full press good
Looking for an anon full press game where the participants are known. Stakes don't matter. 5-100. Phases between 24-48 hours. Have been in a few great games lately and would like that trend to continue. Are you interested?

GERMANY
1901 - second of three Germanys... I still open exactly the same into Denmark (boring, I know...). I get two builds and deny Russia Sweden. England lands an army in Norway and France takes Belgium. Elsewhere Italy takes Tyrolia in the fall -- not liking that!
1902 - I swarm Belgium and Russia and England fit intensely as Sweden remains unclaimed. England takes StP and the channel.
1903 - England is overextended as I grab Sweden and the North Sea. Russia pushes the english from StP to Moscow... not good for either of them.
1904 - Convoy army to Edi and that spells doom for England. France hits a stone wall with my armies at Bel, Ruhr, Muni. Russia is a mess as my builds accumulate.
1905-1907 I move to finish England and grab StP while Italy and Turkey fit over the remains of Austria. France holds steady but can't make progress.
1908-1909 I foolishly push into Tyrolia/Boh, allowing France into Ruhr... I take turns helping Italy to push Turkey, then Turkey to hold on Italy. I pull back from Turkey to give him space to push back at Italy, but he bites me instead (probably saw a solo threat before I did). Italy gives no quarter, though, so Turkey can't hold his gains long.
1910-1912 France moves all around behind my lines, but with Italy still fighting Turkey and not aggressively pushing me behind France a solo is achieved...
And what is the reasoning for denying Sweden in '01 looking at the F/E friendly to eachother? To have zero allies?
CSteinhardt (9560 D(B))
30 Mar 13 UTC
Because after that S01 it's the right play, presumably.
And what happened in S01? It's anything but the right play, presumably.

SD, you are right that denying russia is probably a worse move. It is what I had traditionally done, thinking as Germany I have a better chance to get it myself with Eng pressuring Russia and Russia is not a legitimate threat to Germany without killing himself.
However, I have learned that if I want North Sea, a strong Russia is a good ally to Germany. I now support Russia in most of time.
CSteinhardt (9560 D(B))

I believe you can see the set of orders from S01. If you can't figure out from there why denying Sweden to Russia is, albeit marginally, correct, then you may not be quite as strong of a player as your condescending tone towards a player who put on a darned good display in the opening round makes it seem like you are.
So what's your answer to the first question? Why you did it this time? As it isn't in your tradition. You knew England would play the game for you only?
It seems you can't figure out a thing. He IS good, I wonder what's your story...

SD, you're not worth starting a flamewar over. If you can't find it in yourself to avoid going out of your way to stop by in a thread about a game you weren't playing in be ungracious to a player who got a solo, then I can't help you. Josunice made a decision that both worked out well in the game and, on the merits, is at the very least defendable and, in my view, correct. You're welcome to disagree, and I hope that the next time you're my opponent, you will let Russia have Sweden in that spot, just as I'm sure you hope I'll deny it to Russia in that spot.

Either way, this is an honest attempt to write an EoG, and none of the Group B players deserve to have their thread hijacked. If you wish to continue this discussion with me, feel free to use PM; this is the last response to you I'll post in this thread.

Back to German 1901s... I'm on the fence for supporting Russia to Sweden, so lately I have abdicated the decision by opening to Bel instead of Den, Ber to Kiel (to protect Munich), and Munich to Ruhr. That should guarantee two builds and leave Denmark open... Jury is still out on that new wrinkle for me, though...

SD, your question was a valid one I had thought about, too, so thank you. Though not sure why CStein earned your MISCONSTRUED? Ire. CStein, your thoughts on German openings would be appreciated.
Josunice - if you'd be willing to read messagges again and see who earned whos misconstrued first? The message after I asked why den - swe was a good move. Will someone say why is that a good move?

Do you mean the bounce of russia in fall 01? I had always thought a weakened Russia would have to back off and defend against England. That would leave Sweden open for me. That is what happened here, but as I mentioned, I am beginning to believe supporting Russia is better as a strong Eng is not yielding North Sea. Russia and Germany can comfortably live together, so I expect to play a much more friendly Germany towards Russia in the future....
If I still didn't follow your question, please try once more... I will try to be slightly less thick headed next post <GRIN>

"Jew in a Box"--New, From Germany! (WHAT. THE. HELL?)
http://news.yahoo.com/exhibit-jews-germany-raises-interest-ire-135713125.html I don't know who thought this was a good idea...but...really?! Yeah, stick a Jew in a glass cage like he/she's an animal and have visitors come by and gawk at him like they're some sort of Kafka-esque curiosity (see: The Hunger Artist/Der Hungerkunstler.) If Germans are really that curious about Jews...how about asking some? Go to a synagogue, or a deli...DON'T treat them like circus animals! >:(
