Well, in this care when it's Turkey taking advantage of the situation, getting 2 SC's a turn or there about, there is not "banding together." France, England, and Germany are all fighting and ignoring the situation in the south.

I do have to agree with Zmaj to a point. CD's DO happen. When a near solo'ing powers cd's, then a draw would be reasonable. I don't know how to judge to see if I would draw

I was a beneficiary of the CD of AH as I am Italy. But, the difference is, I put my Cancel vote -- which is appropriate for a 1901 CD -- up immediately, and then a draw vote up after Russia when CD in Autumn of 1902. No amount of rationalization can convince me that this game should have been continued. Turkey steam rolled me, not because he's a better player, but because he's got no resistance. That is bullshit! If I get beat, so be it. But this isn't getting beat, it's getting cheated.

I am trying to bring to the attention of the board that SOMETHING needs to be done about players playing through game opening CD's. It's not right, and it's basically getting ones record/points stolen -- not that I care that much about the record or points. Its a waste of time and very frustrating.

There should be point penalties, I agree. Especially for bastards who resign as soon as they see they got Austria. The problem is, CDs usually have less than 100 .

I am not "looking for attention" personally, I am looking to bring attention to this very detrimental aspect of this site. I love this site, and the game, but how many times does this have to happen before the site does something? I've proposed and "auto cancel" feature for opening CD's. It could even be a opt in-out in the game settings. If someone CD's in 1901, the game automatically cancels and counts the resign against the player. What is so hard about that?

Although I am no coder, it should be that hard. Also, while they're at it, as others have proposed, how about an alarm system that can be set by the player to let them know a) a game is starting; and, b) they have moves due.

I consider someone who refuses to draw/cancel a game like this a cheat. I know others don't, but to me you're stealing points from everyone else -- especially in a WTA game.

I don't think it would be hard (Though I do not know for usre), but, like the mods, Keatas codes in his free-time.

How about this? Change your expectations. This shit happens on this site. Don't let it get you so pissed off when it happens; rather, rejoice when it doesn't.

If you don't want the aggravation just quit the game when you see it happen. Put on the cancel toggle, and check out. If you are worried about resigns, just enter holds like you are doing.

But please don't auto-cancel from a single NMR at the start of the game. That often happens when someone is AFK when a game starts. If they pop back in in Fall '01 or Spring '02, then the game isn't so badly damaged that it is no longer fun. It's just like someone made a couple of stupid early moves. If you do your auto-cancel then, then you are the one ruining the game.

And, finally, when you auto-cancel let everyone know AFTER the game, in a single message. This repeated yammering, over and over, during the game is unseemly and a violation of the site rules.

Part of the problem is that there is no "community action" once we find out who these people are that are doing it. If they're a noobie, we give them a break and try to explain that its considered the honorable thing to draw/cancel a game under these circumstances. But, then even among veterans, there is a this silly debate about whether or not to cancel or draw, when, under what scenarios, and blah blah blah. It needs to be uniform, and consistent, and IMO, the choice needs to be taken from the player. There is always one stubborn guy that refuses, that that power away.
