Top 100 Game
I am currently in a top 300 GR game and it's pathetic, so.... I have decided to make a top 100 GR game for 100 D. It will be non-anon, WTA. gameID=99375 If you have interest in the game, don't hesitate to send me a PM, I don't usually check threads after I make em.

Full Disclosure Final Results
When the games first began, I promised some special recognition for tue best countries. I have posted some various things below and tried to note players that stood out from the rest.

Game 2: http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=91245#gamePanel
Game 4: http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=90708#gamePanel

Best Austria: (10 centers) ghug
Best England: (8 centers) manas
Best France: (10 centers) ODaly
Best Germany: (9 centers) dipplayer 2004
Best Italy :(4 centers) Draugnar
Best Russia: (18 centers) Tru Ninja
Best Turkey: (11 centers) goldfinger0303

Also, I would like to ask for people to vote on the following awards:

Golden Blade award for the best stab

Cockroach award for survival against all odds (doesnt have to go to someone that finished the game, just to someone that survived a scenario where most would have died. They may have lost later in the game, however)

Silver Tongue award for the best diplomat/most trusted

Bullet-to-the-Foot award for the player that caused the most damage to themself (the only award where voting for yourself is permissible).

I will cast my votes after giving them some thought, especially having played in all 3 games.
Are we just voting for players from our game, or in all the rest as well? I don't know the press from the other games, so I can't quite tell.

Also, best diplomat and most trusted are two very different things lol.

You should vote within your own game. Since the press isn't available for the other game, voting outside your game becomes difficult. Also, use your best judgement for best diplomat/most trusted.

Game 4 was a travesty and only ended the way it did because of an ill times Turkish CD and a Russian asshole who took the win from it instead of drawing when he knew that would have been the result otherwise. He wold have been stopped, but got a free win and I refuse to play with this particular player *ever* again. Make note Tru. The only way I play you is if we are in a League game together. Otherwise, you are the lowest of the low. You are less than pond scum. And I will *never* play someone who takes that particular road and violates the rule of "keep the game fun". At the same time you were getting your precious fucked up win, I was in the same situation as you and, guess what? I fucking drew the game! Cocksucking, father fucking, asshole!

Best Russia my ass. Cheap late CD grab from Turkey at the end for a win.

could we add - Sorest loser to the list?

No, maniac. Had I been beat fair and square I would be congratulating him. I have oft in the past congratulated great plays that decimated me once the game was done or I was eliminated. But not jerk plays like that one.

This is starting to sound eerily like the MichiganMan thread from a week or two ago.

http://www.webdiplomacy.net/forum.php?viewthread=913417#913417
For my game (game 2), I nominate:

- Russia as GoldenBlade. The stab of Turkey (be it arranged or not) was very good. Also sailing around Nao/Mao to Spa/por really screwed me over.

- England as the cockroach. I stabbed him twice, and it was very promising. Both my attempts were in vain, due to good defense and diplomacy by England

- Turkey as Silver Tongue. The way you outplayed A/I/R in the beginning was amazing. I wouldn't have made the same choices as you did later on, but you were the best negotiator of us all. England gets a well-deserved second.

- myself as bullet-to-the-foot. My NMR came so unfortunately timed that I went from 7 to 2 in quite some time. It is a miracle that I wasn't defeated.
For my game (game 2), I would nominate (very similar to Bas):

- Russia as the GoldenBlade. Though the whole stab was arranged at the beginning, it devolved into something much, much worse for me. You ended my solo bid.

- France as the cockroach. If we were going to draw I was going to eliminate you. Germany's draw vote was so completely unexpected that I had written you off as dead in the event of the draw.

- For Silver Tongue (I really can't nominate myself?) I would have to go with England. I don't remember all of the press that was said from back in June though.

- myself for bullet-to-the-foot. As if inviting Russia into my home SC's wasn't a brilliant enough idea, I asked Germany to move into Vienna and Venice as well. Ugh, I'll be regretting that one every time I look back at this game.

For game 2, I also concur with the others:

Golden Blade goes to Russia for stumping the Turkish solo. It didn't net him all it could have but really chamged the dynamic of the game.

Cockroach award definitely goes to France. I had also sold you off as dead and the fact Turkey kept you around one more season while Germany and Turkey threw the surprise draw won you way more than expected.

Silver Tongue goes to Turkey because for a long time he had more than one player in his pocket.

Bullet-in-the-foot to Turkey because he had a strong solo potential and allowed both Russia and Germany into his backfield to reduce him to an 11 center draw that he couldn't come back from.

I woll post my thoughts for Game 1 soon as well as my EoG's for 2.

Game 1 seemed awfully limited in some regards, but I'll try to vote anyway.

Golden Blade - I count two real stabs in this game (disregarding the breaking of 1901 DMZs), and one of them was mine, so this one goes to Turkey.

Cockroach - Again, there wasn't all that much cockroaching. I guess I'll give this one to Turkey too, as he held on the longest against boardwide unity against him.

Silver Tongue - I could really give this to any of the Western powers. I guess I'll go with Germany, though I can't think of any compelling reasons to put him over the other two except maybe how much he communicated with me personally.

Bullet-to-the-Foot - This one goes to Russia. He got into a bad spot against the WT, and his alienation of a few of his other neighbors and decline in press did nothing to salvage the position.

After going back through game 1 heres what I thought:

Golden Blade: Turkey did have the best stab on Russia but there wasnt any real stabbing.

Cockroach goes to Italy. There were a number of times I wanted to attack him and the Triple "wasnt ready" for it and when I had a really good stab set up, he didn't take the lethal bait.

Silver Tongue for me goes to England. He seemed to have every one on his side and only at the end did Germany even really begin to worry. Looking at the press, everyone thought I was a manipulator, but England was way more and he went under the radar.

Bullet-in-the-foot definitely goes to Russia for not talking. His position could have been way stronger.

So I was reading the Dutch news and it said that yesterday, the American Dept. of Defense placed a call to the reverend who was organizing these Quran book burnings last year to ask him to stop doing that. So I googled it.

Out of the five games I've played (or am playing) on this website, four were dominated by timely civil disorders / NMRs. Does this always happen? Do I have to give up on Diplomacy forever?

Greatest NFL rivalry.
I'm a relative newcomer to football (only really been watching the last 3-4 seasons). I live in the Chicagoland area so I know that the Bears/Packers rivalry is among one of the greatest. What are the other (in)famous rivalries along the same lines?

Not quite as catchy as "Arab Spring," but still...these ARE all countries that were at the forefront of protests in the AS...

I know I joke around a lot, but this is a serious topic that deserves serious remembrance. If anyone was there, tell your story. If anyone remembers where they were, what they were doing, etc., tell your story.

And no, this is not a place for hate against anyone. Hate is what brings me to post this; hate won't fix it.

What if there were some sort of "ding" when time ran out on turns?
Given that a fair number of people probably CD because they're off surfing the net on other tabs or something, would an audible "ding" at the beginning/end of turns help the problem of CD's?
