I am not "butthurt" I am just sick of playing games in which SplitDiplomat refuses to draw when everyone else agrees that the game should be drawn. I realize that he doesn't HAVE to do anything, but its what we're "supposed" to do, i.e., what everyone expects of their fellow site members.

When I said he "cheated" I mean that he played a game that was unbalanced. If you don't see that, then you're blind.

SD also was, IMO, unreasonable, although personally I prefer cancel to draw as well. But I don't think MM deserves anything but our disapprobation for his actions.

I wasn't going to sit there and play when the game should have been canceled. Say what you want, but it's bullshit. SD is a douche bag, and everyone knows it. MY ACTIONS? C'mon. You cannot cancel a game that late into it, and even getting a cancel in the first year is near impossible most times.

I have not quit any other games recently, but that was ridiculous.

What's wrong with not wanting to draw? I don't know, why don't you ask pretty much everyone else on the site? Everyone seems to think it's the appropriate action to draw a game where there is a significant CD. Sure, if the guy quits when he's down to one, fine, don't draw. But here France was powerful, and his CD totally unbalanced the game. SD knows it, but he's a point whore who wants to win so badly to boost his ego that he doesn't care. It's cancel or nothing.

I mistook France for Germany. No, it's worth neither my time nor yours. I respect my the fellow members, SD does not. If we call just quit when he refused to draw, then he might get the message.

Actually, MM, I also do not like drawing. My general rule of thumb is that a draw means "the game reached a natural end, in which the remaining powers felt a draw was a fair result", while if the game is being stopped because something strange happened, we have a button for that too, and it's labeled "cancel".

I was willing to both draw and cancel in this case because I felt I was a major, major beneficiary of the French CD, and it would be inappropriate to argue over cancel vs. draw. Had I not been a French neighbor, I would have pushed for a cancel.

What's pretty weak is the guy who played France has resigned from a full 20% of his games.

Because as the person who, as best I can tell, has ruined more live games than anybody else on this site by quitting, you don't have the right to get pissy about somebody else CDing. You get to sit there and take it, and let the people who haven't ruined 77 games figure out whether they want to do something about it, and when you've done that enough that the balance is anywhere close to equal, then you're allowed to be indignant.

Can we just stop arguing about this? I've really not been able to get an edge in word-wise. My opinion is that France is an ass hole for leaving. It kind of ruined my first game back, but that's life. Granted I was a little pissy that Russia didn't draw when he should have, but Italy never pressed draw until he had like 2 centers left. So if we are being pissed off at Russia, we have to be pissed off at Italy as well. Since no one is bitching at Italy, then can we calm the fuck down and either play another game or go the fuck to bed?
